I have owned a George Foreman grill for years. I have found it very handy for cooking burgers, chicken, bacon etc. My last one I'd had for a few years and had served it's time. I had been without one for a couple of months and was really missing the grill. My husband was out one day and came back with this one. When he said you could remove the hot plates to wash them I thought it would be really tricky, but it's not. They come out with ease, drop them in a sink, give them a quick wipe over and then back on again. Much easier to keep clean than the one without the removable plates. I used to hate cleaning the old one!!
The only drawbacks I have with this one is that there is no timer which I found very useful in my old grill. Also, when it first heats up and you cook something it sizzles but then the thermostat kicks in, so if you want to do two lots of something, I'd suggest leaving it open for a moment so that the heating sorts itself out again. Don't know if this makes sense, but I was cooking bacon the other morning, the first lot sizzled and cooked very quickly. I then added three more rashers and it took a lot longer second time round. I left the grill open for a minute so that the temperature light came on, closed the grill again and it started sizzling!!
You can cook loads of different stuff in it. Meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, sandwiches. In the manual it tells you how long to cook different kinds of food. It also has some suggestions on different things you can cook.
The size for this particular model is for 3 chicken breasts. When I put three bacon rashers on it the other day I had trouble fitting them all in, but once they'd started cooking and shrinking it was fine. It all depends if you have a lot to cook for and if you want them all cooking at the same time. Also, what storage space you have on your worktop or cupboards.
I'd recommend this George Foreman if you like the idea of removing the hot plates for washing.
