My mum bought me my little George Formby (as we call it!) for my birthday, and I haven't looked back since! I have had it 3 years now and it is exceptionally relaiable.

It is very compact, and as there are only 2 of us, we can cook just the right amount of food on it.

I was totally taken in with the whole "It's so good, I put my NAME on it" thingy, and everytime I saw one, I would go over and look longingly at it, check out the price, and wish I had one. Hence the birthday present. Anyway on to the important stuff...

It is very small in dimensions, so we keep it out all the time. It comes with a fairly short cable, I think ours is around 45cm, but that is enough from our plugs to the windowsill. You are supposed to wipe it clean after every use, which doesn't take long, but you have to wait for it to cool. You also get a little spatula/fork type thing which you use to clean the ridges.

It has 2 griddles, one for cooking the top, one for the bottom. You are supposed to use a little oil when cooking on it, however the surface is non stick, and I have found that you don't really need to use any oil at all. Across the top, there is a separate section for toasting/heating bread buns, however we have never used this so i can't really comment on how effective it is.

The grill takes about 4 minutes to heat up, and has a little light that clicks off when it is at the optimum cooking temperature. You just fling your meat/sausages/veggies/whatever on there, close the lid and away you go.

There is a little tray for collecting the run off, and for the first month of using it I was endlessly fascinated at what was coming off there! Even very lean meat has things draining off it.

It cooks meat in a quick time, by cooking it from both sides, so it doesn't take longer than about 8 mins to do a steak, depending on how you like it.

My George is sliver all over, though you get get different colours to compliment your colour scheme.

The problem I do have with it is that it can be awkward to clean, you have to wait till it cools down and give it a througouh wiping, but really this is not that big a deal. Also, the smell of the cooking meat travels very quickly, as it steams quickly from the back of the griddle... we have had to move it to the windowsill so the smell goes straight outside. Saying that it is probably no worse that frying a steak, but it has been so long since I have done that I can't remember!

Overall it is a good product, definitely worth investing in especially as you can get the Baby George for around £15 new, (cheaper on ebay probably). Because of it's little size, it is perfect if you are a student or a couple, or just don't have much space to store it. If mine ever breaks, I will certainly be getting a new one...
