Advantages: Creates good tasting food with that freshly BBQ'd look and flavour! Disadvantages: Expensive, hard to clean and quite bulky to keep on the side
...problem I had with this George foreman cooking device was the very difficult task of cleaning it. Especially when one cooks oily, fatty, greasy or cheesy items as the wonderful slope that is designed to tip fat away from your food, actually causes more hasle and possibly more damage to your health through bacterial endangerment of an unclean grill than if you ate fatty saturated food. The plates are fixed and so you have to cean it insitu but as ... ...hard as you have to either tip and scrub or lean over and scrub upwards. It takes alot of time and if you don't get all the residue bits off it burns next time you try to use it.
To conclude: although slightly bulky and hard to clean, it works well and produces some tasty looking food - meaty and veggie. However I would watch out for the hot plates as burn your hands easily, I've got three scars to prove it. But if you are less accident ... more
This was a present from my grandma who thought that I needed something that would allow me to have a nutritous and warm meal that was also healthy. I beleive that she was probably suggested it by some store assistant in Comet as she doesn't watch much T.V and she said she had never her of a Mr foreman. However I am happy that she thought of me and made a special trip into town to buy not just any grill but a £50 one! ... amditly a bizarre, but useful 21st birthday present!
It's a silver rectangular shaped bivalve shot of little machine that opens like a sandwich maker. It has two plates with lines on and produce char coaled efec on foods. The appliance sits onfour feet that mean you can stand it on the surfaces of kitchen sides, plug it in and use it straight from the side. However I found that it was far too bulky for this and after using, letting it coll and cleaning it I had to wind up the cord and put it in a cupboard.
It is easy to use and the manual is good however it's pretty much striaght forward; i.e. plug in, switch switch, choose setting, turn dail and set time to cook. The only problems I had really were not much to do with using the mechanisms of it but just the fact that the plates get so hot and i over lap my fingers around the handlge that I got burnt a few times and have 3 nice little tear scar marks just above the tips if my fingers and the surface top of my hand.

The plates are fixed and so you have to cean it insitu but as the lid is a sandwich shape this is really hard as you have to either tip and scrub or lean over and scrub upwards. However I would watch out for the hot plates as burn your hands easily, I've got three scars to prove it. But if you are less accident prone than me and you kep it out of the reach of children and students, it can work wonders. But you may want to rethink if you don't have much to spend as doesn't really have any special features that a normal hand sandwich maker like grill appliance from tesco's value range has. So overall I've given it a 4 star rating. Thank you for reading :0 best wishes mintz :)
