"Easy to use, healthy food... what more?"

My Experience…

Being a student this piece of equipment has been extremely handy indeed. For anyone that is nervous or mediocre at cooking the George Foreman GR20 grill is definitely for you. I'm one of those people, and with the grill I can just put 2 or 3 burgers or sausages on it and leave it - simple! It's also great for anyone in a rush. The cooking surface is quick to reach temperature and a piece of kitchen roll wipes the grill clean afterwards. The only thing you need to worry about cleaning properly is the tray that collects all the fat at the bottom and even that isn't exactly difficult is it? Just think, beforehand I cooked burgers, sausages and the likes in a pan on a cooker. The cooker gets all greasy, I have to wash the pan and you've got to wait for the cooker to heat (if its electric like mine) - the GR20 grill makes cooking hassle free.

Design…

The GR20 grill was designed to be functional and efficient, which it has achieved. Everything design-wise that is on the grill such as the raised lip at the bottom and the transparent upper lid has a functional purpose. Just simple things that make your life easier. The grill is made uncomplicated which is an advantage. There's no need to fuss about options and heat settings and this and that, simply plug the thing in, wait 5 minutes and off you go.

Most kitchen appliances are used and then shut away when not being used. However, the GR20 grill is so elegant and attractive that I keep mine out on the side along with the other usuals like the kettle. Its sleek, curvy, silver structure and colourful transparent lid make this product a must for all fashionable people too. Not only does the grill embody fashion and excellent aura, it also has a great genre of features and extras that make it a pleasure to use. Extra featuers:

- 4 leg caps;
- 2 spatulas;
- 2 fat collecting trays;
- And a cracking users manual.

These features include 4 caps that can either be fitted to the back legs of the grill to increase fat extraction from what you're cooking or they can be placed at the front of the grill which will tilt it back ever so slightly to retain a bit more fat than usual.

The two spatulas that are provided have two uses. You can use them to flip your food if you really need to (don't forget the grill cooks on both sides!) and to move them fro the grill cleanly onto a plate. Furthermore, they can be used after cooking to scrape the corrugated grill structure of the cooking surface as the pattern of the spatulas matches perfectly, making cleaning EVEN more easier.

The 2 fat collecting trays are pretty self explanatory. They are well designed for the job, they fit perfectly beneath the fat outlet edge and they are sufficiently large to contain fat from one round of cooking. Remember to replace this tray if you're going to do more rounds of cooking or it might overflow… nasty.

Users Manual…

The user manual for the Foreman GR20 grill is one of the best user manuals that I have ever come by. For those that are incompetent when it comes to cooking the easiest thing, just like me, it has a grid of food stuffs and their weights and tells you how long you should leave them on the grill. This grid of cooking times has proved invaluable to me over the months.

Functionality…

I have read a few reviews about the internet saying that they can only cook sausages on them because they're all that fit. Now I have experienced a problem with trying to get burgers and other food to stay on the grill rather than sliding down all the time and bits of the burgers getting missed, leaving them raw. You can see that the grill people have tried to stop this as there are little raised bumps across the surface to stop slipping, sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. This isn't too much of a problem because of the raised lip at the bottom, but it is one of the few down sides to this grill. I cook all sorts on the grill, and make full use of the burger bun warming compartment at the top - genius!

Cost…

I got my George Foreman GR20 grill back in last June (2005), then it cost me £39.99 but since I have found prices as low as £24.99 in the high street and online. A seriously good deal for what you are getting, and this thing is going to last you. It is solid and is constructed of robust materials that aren't going to deteriorate over night.

Sum-Up…

I would recommend this to anyone that hasn't time to be cooking or anyone who just can't cook. In fact, I recommend it to everyone! It's simply a great buy and you will make use of it. Use it in summer to cook your BBQ food and then finish it off on the Barbeque, this way you're being safe and you're getting great food. George Foreman's mission for this product was for it to be a health grilling machine. The amount off fat that comes out of my food after using this grill is remarkable, imagine… before, all that fat was going inside you. Not really pleasant. I would therefore say that this grill is one of THE best appliances in my house, it fulfils its goals and I have fun using it. Thank you.
