I first saw my step father use one of these after he was un well and needed to eat healthy foods.

Not long after that my husband and I had to go and get one, why??? I love to toasted sandwichs and in my mind they make the best!!

Not only do they do GREAT toasted sandwichs but the grill just about any food, my husband loves the bacon that comes out of it and I was amazed at just how fat came out of three slices of bacon, and the top bit that holds a bun warmer kept the bun nice and warm for the bacon.

So how does this thing actually work?
well firstly you have to remove it from the box, remove all the packaging and I would also suggest that you read through the instructual manual. As with most small kitchen appliances the only way to switch this item on, is by the wall plug, and you will then see the light on the top of the lid come on, and then leave for approx ninty seconds for the appliance to warm up. Then open it up to reveal the top and bottom grilling pans and place on the bottom grill pan what ever it is you wish to cook and then following the cooking guidelines lower the top grill pan and just simple leave the food to cook, all you need do is simple keep an eye on it, just as you would when cooking on the cooker top.
There is no need to turn the food product over like you would in an ordinary grill, and you can cook just about most foods and vegetables.
As the food cooks you will notice the fat drain out of the machine front, as the whole machine is angled for the fat to run out and be caught in the plastic drip tray ( I would also put some kitchen roll under the drip tray)
Once you have finished you simple unplug the machine from the wall, and to clean the item, (although it supplies a plastic scraper to clean it) I personally use a cloth with warm soapy water to clean it, the wipe it down with a dry cloth or kitchen roll, and the plastic drip tray can be washed as you wash your other dishes, in the sink or dishwasher.
There is a grilling machine that comes with a timer aswell which I would say is great for those of us who forget what time they put they put their food in to cook, but if like me, you are still in the kitchen while your food is cooking, the timer would not be needed.
