Plot -Cass arrives home from holiday to find her boyfriend, Jesse, getting hot and heavy with her best friend. Now boyfriendless and best friendless, she feels like her life is over. But luckily she finds some new friends who introduce her to a new hobby - poker. But when Jesse decides he wants to join in, poker won't be the only game Cass finds she's playing...
What I thought - This was a fun little story. Not overly memorable, and I doubt I'd bother to read it again, but it was fun, all the same.
The storyline was cute but predictable. I didn't find myself excited to find out what was coming next, and it didn't have me gripped, but it was nice and without heavy angst, and perfect if you're a young teen looking for an easy read.
I found myself warming immediately to Cass. She was kooky and funny, and determined to hold her head up high despite what her skeezy ex boyfriend and best friend had done.
Having read one or two of Micol Ostow's other books, I'd say that this one was my favorite, and if you're already a fan of hers, I'd certainly reccomend giving it a go.
However compared to other books in the teen romance genre, this one doesn't rate too highly on my list.
I'd probably reccomend this to young teens looking for a book not too heavy on the angst, and with a little light romance.
