I have a pair of these straighteners at home and so far they have lasted me two years!! I got them as a christmas present and believe they retail for around £100.00. The straighteners are no different to the normal ghds in terms of how they work the only difference is is the colour!
The colour is the reason I wanted these ghds I am afraid to admit it! My black ghds were perfectly fine but these ones are just so cute and girly.
They take less than a minute to heat up and bleep once they are fully heated so you know you can use them! Another good thing about them is that if you accidently leave them on which I often do, they turn themselves off after half an hour so you don't burn the house down! I think this is a great idea as I often left my old style ghds on had to rush home to turn them off, one day I left them on all day and cracked all my dressing table! They also come with a heat mat which stop you from cracking work surfaces like your dressing table! I find them so easy to use they grip your hair without damaging it like some straighteners. I have had straighteners in the past that felt like they were snapping my hair whilst straightening.
With these straighteners I can straighten my hair fully in about 10 minutes 5 minutes if i'm rushing but like using anything really hot its best to take your time because I have burnt my self a few times! Mine also came with 4 pink hair clips so you can clip your hair in sections whilst straightening.
I also use these hair straighteners to curl my hair and to wave it they are much better than hair tongs. Mine came along with a dvd on how to create different looks with the straighteners however I didn't watch it I just guessed and its very easy to do! I also use them to flick the ends of my hair.
I think the lead of the straighteners is much longer than most other straighteners which is good as my dressing table is quite far away from my plug and if you just happen to be doing some body elses hair you can move around a bit more!
When I straighten my hair with these ghds it stays straight all day the only time it does go back to its normal messyness is if it rains or if its really humid e.g. on holiday!
My old ghds didn't used to work in some countries e.g. caribbean etc but these new ghds do which is great just to tame your hair a bit on an evening.
In my opinion they are well worth there money still noone is even close to competing with them. I think it is best to buy them directly from the ghd website that is where I got mine from.
