GHD smoothing balm comes from their impressive range of hair styling products. It comes in a bronzed stand up 6 inch plastic container. It has a modern abstract design to the front, with GHD written upon the middle of the container, and it states 'Smoothing balm for hair straightening', and 'Thermodynamics'. The weight is 150ml, and the shelf life once opened is 12 months. GHD styling products have been designed to be used with the ghd straighteners to give optimum performance all round.

GHD have a thermodynamics 4 step range which has been expertly formulated. This balm is from stage 3 which stands for style, and is for use before the hair straightening process. Apply to damp towel dried hair, after shampooing. Rub product in the palms then rub through the hair. After the hair is dry it will be sleek and shiny, with an amazing shine, and your hair will be protected, and remain straight until your next hair wash.

The purpose of the straightening balm is to control and tame the hair before straightening. This balm is perfect for styling sleek straight styles, and it is designed to leave your hair frizz free, when blow drying or straightening. When you style your hair with the ghd straighteners, if using this smoothing balm, it will stop the humidity getting to your hair. So when the atmosphere is hot and your head begins to perspire, the hair will not become frizzy, but still retain it's sleek smooth appearance, until it's next wash. The great thing about using ghd straighteners, over lesser performers in the straightening line, is that the hair will stay poker straight until you choose to wash it again. They really are the top straighteners on the market today.

With this balm you can create any style, from any hair type. It will tame hair that is usually uncontrollable, and prepare it ready for styling. The use of the balm helps to retain the hairs moisture levels and elasticity when the heat of the straighteners is applied. The balm also contains UVA protection, and is anti-static, and de-humidifying to protect against the frizzies. It also moisturises and adds shine.

Apply the balm to damp hair after shampooing. Smooth the balm in your palms. Then run a fifty pence size amount of the balm through your hair from roots to tips, massage into the hair well, and comb through to distribute the product evenly. Leave to settle for a while till the hair is a little dryer, then straighten. The balm will react to the heat of the straighteners and seal a bond to the hair to keep it perfectly straight. This balm promotes medium hold within the hair, and will keep your hair manageable daily.

The balm is akin to vaseline in colour, though the consistency is runnier. The fragrance is really nice, it has a really lovely smell, a little carnation smelling fused with lemon, and grass. Hard to put your finger on the exact smell really, but it is very pleasant. It states do not get this product in your eyes, and store below 25 c, and out of direct sunlight. The ghd smoothing balm is perfect for coarse and frizzy hair. It 'Provides medium hold, leaving the hair frizz-free with a soft, smooth finish. Provides long-lasting protection against humidity, and Contains UVA protection'.

Of course, like anything, when used with the ghd straighteners this will improve the products performance. When it comes to straighteners the GHD's really are the best. The heat, and their advanced ceramic plates really give the hair amazing straightening and sleekness as they flatten the hairs shaft impressively. Your hair will be smooth and shiny after it has been straightened with the GHD's and with the addition of this product.

When combined with the heat of the GHD'S this product will achieve fantastic results on the hair. It will straighten hair poker straight. It is anti static, and it also protects the hair against humidity.
