I bought my copy of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 (GRAW2) in good faith. It had received good reviews, my friends were all playing it and I had enjoyed it the one time I too had had a go. So I was expecting it to be good. And boy, is it. Anyone interested in video games should know who Tom Clancy is. As a military author, he knows what he's talking about, and his help has already been issued to the immensely popular Splinter Cell series. GRAW(1), as well as the numerous Ghost Recon's before it had already been a huge hit, and Clancy has shown that his assistance in video games is not to be taken lightly. In fact, it seems it should be taken at all costs.
-Story-
The game begins in 2014, and for anyone interested, one day after the original GRAW. You take charge of an elite unit of ghosts, which, together with the Mexican Army, are trying to prevent a Nuclear explosion just south of the US border. The game takes place over a time period of 72 hours, and along the way you'll fight in the streets, in the desert, and even, for the first time ever, on American soil.
-Gameplay-
The game features a third person over-the-shoulder camera system allowing the chance for easier squad commands to be issued. The camera system also comes in handy during combat, allowing the player to aim on a target without actually having to come under fire, whilst stood behind cover. Squad commands are quite simple, it's literally aim on the floor to move your men, aim at the enemy to have them open fire on them, but it works extremely well. As good as the campaign mode is, and it is extremely good, it is the multiplayer, specifically online where the game comes to life. Basically, it's superb. There are a wide variety of maps to choose from, as well as a wide variety of weapons which really become handy based on the particular map you may be on. For example sometimes it may be more favourable to pick of the enemy with your sniper rifle yet in others, it may be best to whip out you machine gun and just open fire on them. There is an excellent ranking system, making the gamer aspire to be as high as humanly possible, but also allowing you to suss out your opponent before you get demolished.
-Graphics & Sound-
Put simply, its fabulous on both aspects. Firstly, the graphics. Explosions bullet holes, animations all are extremely well designed by the creators, and I must say it is one of the most best games on my shelf for realism. It honestly makes you feel like you're digging in behind a hut in a shanty town, awaiting your death, which is where the sound comes in. This too adds to the realism and you'll honestly feel like you're there. In campaign too it's even better, with squad units registering your commands with things as specific as "behind the red car". It's just great stuff.
-Conclusion-
Basically buy it. It's been out a good while now, so you'll probably be able to pick it up really cheap. You certainly won't be disappointed and I know that I'll be playing this game for months to come (and I've had it since it's launch).

Review of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (Xbox 360)
Advantages: Good graphics; great single player; multiplayer is immense! Disadvantages: Online community is shrinking fast.
...set in the world of Tom Clancy. Your character is a member of a USA advanced Special Forces team called Ghosts who have access to advanced military equipment and are called in to resolve terrorist situations. The plot of the second game continues from where the first one finished, it involves a military coup in Mexico and the potential invasion of the USA. It is an original game where the camera is on top of your characters shoulder making it a cross ... ...Although the game is getting a little old now the graphics are truly next generation high definition. All the edges are crisp and sharp with no pixilation. A lot of detail is on screen at any one time with a draw point on the horizon a long way from the camera. With the game being set in Mexico dust effects are superb and worthy of a special mention. When the wind picks up dust can blow across screen obscuring your vision, this seems to be quite ...

Advantages: Addictive, highly playable and gamer friendly Disadvantages: Absolutely NONE - Answers on a postcard please!
Welcome to my world as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2's ultimate rookie player. In one simple word this game is Beautiful! Following on from their first installment of Advanced Warfighter, Ubisoft have excelled in the world of gaming production with the sequel.
From the moment I loaded the game I was totally surprised with just how good this game looked and I hadn't even played a game at this point.
The game has two main playing options - single ... ...campaign, although I just don't play that anymore.
In the campaign mode you find yourself as Pete Mitchell - the World's saviour when it comes to beating the nasty terrorists of this world. The levels are clear and concise - you know what you're doing, even as a complete beginner.
The graphics look amazing and the soundtrack and audio is some of the best I've ever seen on the Xbox 360. You work through several missions, each with sub missions in. ...

Advantages: Beautiful Graphics, Excellent Gameplay both on and offline, Brilliant sequel. Disadvantages: 1st person multiplayer
...Being a fan of the Tom Clancy series, I hacve enjoyed playing this game far more than his other titles.
If you've played The original Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, then you'll appreciate the subtle (and noticeable) differences in game, for example, an arsenal of new weapons and a seemingly improved enemy AI.
Of course, this game is available on Xbox Live and has a vast array of multiplayer modes, i'll be honest, i'm not a massive fan of the ... ...playing in 1st person rather than 3rd person limits a player's skill, although i won't deny it does make for good, competitive, gaming. One thing that i've noticed about the sequel to an already impressive game, is the attention to detail, especially with the environment in which you play. The landscapes, buildings and other miscellaneous obstacles could pass as pictures of real places and objects in some cases. I think that it is somewhat a work ...

Advantages: The whole game, but multiplayer being the best Disadvantages: Unfair ranking at times, patience required to rank up.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 - XBOX 360
I will sum this game up for you - Fantastic!
I cant praise this game enough. Yes it has a few bad points, but my god what a brilliant game.
Graphics are amazing, very realistic, sounds are realisitc, and difficulty is fair, depending how you set it.
The Campaign mode is fantastic, very realisitc, with good interactivity throughout the game with various teams and equipment, i.e Helicopters, Fighter ... ...so much fun with so many modes and maps to play, is just so much fun for me.
Once youve played mulitlayer you can try for ranked multiplayer, working your Way up from Mere Private at level 1, right the way up through all the ranks, to level 25, the ranking can be tough and a little unfair at times, but is great fun.
The achievments are realistic, some are tough but not un-doable, good fun to get.
As i said, cant reccomend this enough, the value ...

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 builds off of the events in the first game and places gamers in control of the U.S. military's elite fighting unit, the Ghosts. In the year 2014, the rising conflict between Mexican loyalists and insurgent rebel forces has thrown Mexico into full-scale civil war. Under the command of Captain Scott Mitchell, the Ghosts are called upon to face an imminent threat to the United States. The fate of two countries now lies in the hands of the Ghosts as they fend off an attack on U.S. soil. Equipped with the most cutting-edge weaponry and technology, the Ghosts must battle on both sides of the border to neutralize the escalating rebel threat.
