"* Fruity, Flirty and Fresh! *"

After writing a rather critical review of one of Ghost’s perfumes, I decided to give them a break and write a positive review on one of their perfumes. I do think that Ghosts perfumes tend to be hot and miss, although their brand name is extremely popular I think their perfumes tend to have no real structure or consistency. So every ghost perfume has a mind of its own!

** Perfume Packaging **

I have to admit that this perfume packaging is absolutely stunning. The half-moon shaped bottle is extremely unique and the strong glass is balanced perfectly so it doesn’t topple over. The colour of the bottle for me is what stand outs most. It reminds me of a tropical sunset and completely represents the fragrance. The bottle starts with a deep pink lid and slowly down the bottle the glass blends from pink to orange in a subtle and romantic way. It really is a beautiful colour and is almost identical to the colour of the sunset in Malta that I took last year. The colour definitely represents that of a summers evening and is a lovely bottle to have in your collection. It also comes in a gorgeous slightly translucent box that also encompasses the tropical sunset colours. Very feminine, bright and uplifting as well as a unique bottle that represents the fragrance. Just what a perfume should be packaged in.

** The Heart Notes **

The heart scents (otherwise known as the middle notes) are what makes up the main body of the perfume and is usually what catches the most attention and appeal. The heart notes are most apparent within an hour of wearing the perfume and generally last throughout the life of the perfume on the skin. So when people ask 'oh what's that smell?' it's usually these notes that they can sense. The heart notes in this perfume are...

Peach, Lotus blossom, Pink freesia, Grapefruit, Sambac flowers and white wood.

All the notes blend together to make a sweet, fresh, zingy scent. The Sambac flowers (also known as a form of jasmine) really gives the scent its sweetness but the white wood and peach blend really well together to stop it being to overbearing and sickly. The tropical scent to it stops it from being to sugary and the notes really are refreshing.

** Wearing the Fragrance **

Ghost advertise this as representing ‘The celebration of a perfect summer day’. With the warm, sun infused air and the freedom of long days, Ghost advertise summer as being when women are at one with their feminine ability to flirt naturally. (Believe this f you will!). ‘Summer flirt’ is a fragrance which has been made to encapsulate this feeling and give every woman a fruity, flirty experience.
Amazingly I think however dramatic Ghost make it sound, it really does, somehow summarize what a summer fragrance should be.

The first spray is extremely fruity and the peach and grapefruit jump out at you and wake you up. It is a perfect balance as it doesn’t choke you with a sickly sweet smell, but it definitely delicious tropical burst that smells as though it should be a cocktail of ripe fruits. I also like it because it doesn’t smell like a cheap, adolescent cheap perfume which sometimes fruity scents come across as. Ghost have somehow made this perfume come across as slightly more sophisticated and I believe it is from the hint of powdery musk which settles after the initial spray.

After 10 minutes or so, the tropical sweetness still remains but it settles slightly into a warmer fruity smell which almost wraps itself over the skin. That in my opinion is where the flirting idea comes in to play. The scent almost dances over the skin and is strong enough to leave a lasting aroma as you walk around. Definitely enough to make people compliment the smell, but not enough so that people feel suffocated!

It really is a sensual yet fresh fragrance, perfect for uplifting summer evenings or a burst of freshness in the morning. Versatile and mouth-watering. With only a small hint of anything floral this really is a fruity offering that I feel most people will like. Muddled with a powdery musk it is extremely hard to say anything negative about ‘Summer flirt’. You only need a couple of sprays and your senses and skin will be completely fruited up, but the initial tang doesn’t last as long as I would like. After 10 minutes the aroma settles however considering the thinness of the perfume it really has a reputable staying power. After a couple of hours I can still sense a thin layer of fruit on my skin and mouth-watering it most definitely is!

** Price, Availability & Other Products **

As with most perfumes the price varies depending on where you got and what size you get. I would always advice you to look online as there are so many perfume retailers now. I bought this in summer when obviously the price was slightly higher as that is when it is marketed for. But with the New Year sales due soon I would definitely suggest you looking around for a bargain before the summer months hit us.
A 50ml bottle is approximately £25 which in my opinion is pretty good value for money considering you only need a couple of sprays for an intense aroma. However, when on offer you can get it as cheap as £15.

** Recommendation **

Released as a limited edition in 2006, after looking around 'Summer Flirt’ is still very much available and no doubt it will be released again this summer as it was last year.

In general I am a fruity fan so this perfume went down extremely well with me. The scent was a perfect fresh but warm balance and lasts a decent amount of time on the skin. A couple of sprays last a good few hours and it is a nice perfume if you want a compliment or two! A unique bottle with sunset colours that represent the fruity fragrance perfectly.
I recommend this to anyone who wants a refreshing fragrance and something with a little added vivacity! As a gift I really don’t see you going wrong with this one at all. It doesn’t smell synthetic and it isn’t too overpowering. Very feminine and pleasant on the nose and eye, I believe it would be a welcome gift.

I love the smell and it is definitely on my favourites list.
