Well seems I was lucky enough to get my hands on Ghostbusters: The Video Game before it's actual release on the Xbox 360 in the UK. This was thanks to the game being released in America region free.

After playing the demo, I didn't think that this was going to be a game that I enjoyed as it was typically my cup of tea. In a sense it is a 3rd person shoot em up.
Storyline: I thought that the storyline wasn't great. It meandered along and no plot was really discovered until halfway and by that time you had unknowingly completed half the mission. The game has tried to fit in as much as possible from the films into the storyline. This at times does fit well, but a lot of the time I felt like it has been forced in there. Storyline - 2/5
Gameplay: The gameplay is some what addictive. The controls are simple with the shoulder buttons controlling your backpack. During the game your backpack develops to have 4 different types of stream. The trigger buttons are used to fire the backpack and the buttons to release the pressure. The D-Pad is used to select the different type of backpack and a button is used for run, your scanner and interact. The gameplay of the game is easy. You run and zap more or less everything that moves. Sometimes you will have to trap them (something that isn't used as much as it should be). Gameplay - 4/5.

Sound: Obviously use of the "Who You Gonna Call" is as often as possible, and it's a song you find you don't get bored off. The sounds used while completing levels are eerie and fit perfectly with the game. The sounds don't seem to vary between levels and are not level specific. Sound: 4/5
Replay: I have no motivation to play this game at all. There are artefacts to collect and ghosts to scan and have results for, but there is much emphasis on this in the game and it ended up that I just collected or scanned what I could. It would have helped if if the game kept a tally of things so I knew how much more there was to collect or scan. As this game was on Xbox, I can't advise on online play as I refuse to pay for Xbox Live Gold. Replay: 1/5

I completed the game in under 7 hours. The game can sometimes be very annoying in the sense if you get knocked down, it seems to take forever for your guy to get back up. It's a pity that your character doesn't actually say a single word in the game, but just shrugs his shoulders occasionally.
For me the biggest letdown was the ending. The game has it's ending and the credits role, it's at this stage that the second game ( I assume ) is introduced. It just feels like they decided about a sequel once they had finished the game and didn't want to make an effort with a cutscene.
If you're looking for a game where you want a fun game but not a game where you need to get really too indepth with, then this is the game for you.
Advantages: Just fantastic from startto finish Disadvantages: bad lip sync - too short
...i got my hands on Ghostbusters the video game, oh yes it is as good as it sounds....... Where do you start with this game? Maybe i will start out with the negative points. just so you know i'm not just tripping on my fanboy ghostbusters high and presuming this games is perfect (i am a bit :P). First of all the cutscenes are hindered by bad lip syncing, it's quite difficult to watch without becoming annoyed that its so bad, but then as you get into ... ...a team with the other ghostbusters being controlled by A.I, something that can go either way in being a help or hinderance, they are usefull in that (much like Gears of War) they can revive you so you can continue play withou loading from a checkpoint, and do help in distracting some of the ghosts when there are multiple attackers, they also give advice, such as telling you to turn around if you are being crept up on or to use different tactics to ...

Advantages: fun cinematics, brings back memories Disadvantages: short campaign
Ghostbusters is a well known franchise which stars Bill Murray and Dan Akyroyd. The reception for the movies was very good and it seems only natural that an official video game was released. The game is a third person shooter where you start as the ‘Rookie’, a fourth character in which you capture ghosts and the paranormal. Whilst playing, you instantly feel the Ghostbusters personality as you explore the characters, locations and set pieces during ... ...game is from the original Ghostbusters featuring the main theme tune. There is much likeness from film to game with all the actors lending their voices, capturing hearts and laughs during the game. The script is really funny, mainly because it was written by the guys behind the movie. If you’re a fan of Ghostbusters, then I can surely say that this game will not let you down. It may have a short lifespan but it is action packed with all your favourite ...

Ghostbusters: one of the greatest movies of all times, and perfect material for a video game conversion. Of course, there have been Ghostbusters computer games in the past, from the 1984 Activision title, through to 1993's 'Real Ghostbusters' on the Gameboy - however, gamers have had to wait a full sixteen years for this latest version from the Atari studio, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the film's original release.
Simply title 'Ghostbusters: The Video Game', this incarnation of the franchise is without doubt the most lavish to date - plus, the majority of the original cast have returned to perform the voice acting duties. The game has been released on all the next-gen formats, with the PC, Xbox360 and PS3 versions opting for a realistic graphical approach, and the Nintendo Wii version ...
