i have owned the gibraltar road series rack for a couple of years and it is a must buy, providing you have the money. the simplicity of the design makes it easy to move around, to gigs/practices and also helps with space issues. the best feature for me is the flexibility of the ball joints used for connecting toms to the rack, they allow the tom to be at any angle, which for anyone with rack mountable toms need. one drawback i have encountered with the rack is if the floor is uneven the rack does not balance with all legs on the floor, which is extremely annoying and unstable, especially if you have expensive equipment attached to it which could get damaged. To finish on a plus, the hardware is very strong and good longevity, i feel the rack will last me for the rest of my playing career.
