The lest paul studio is basically entry level gibson and I recommend it for any gibson beginner ( note I did not say:beginner, I said gibson beginner) first off it is very affordable if you look at the $2499 that you will be paying if you bought a standard, I bought mine used for $925 and it was worth every penny, first let's start with the finish, the fireburst finish is very beautiful and usually gibson guitars with this finish sell for more than their wine red cousins because it's a burst top not a solid color.
the sound is amazing and that's because gibson used the 490R and 498T alnico magnet humbuckers, they have a great mid range not that much treble, they are creamier than the burstbucker pro humbuckers or the ceramic humbuckers

Not true, the best ever made is the gibson les paul custom shop edition, the gibson les paul studio is entry level guitar, @ the devilinme: do you play guitar at all? I actually sell vintage and collector gibson and prs guitars and I am a top rated seller on ebay. the studios have the low quality rosewood fingerboard whereas the custom have the popular ebony fretboard.
