Advantages: New concept of vampire story Disadvantages: Can seem strange to start with when you think you are reading the end first
...It starts with the Gideon the bad-guy getting shot by three of the unfortunate women he has been tormenting. The assumption you make is that you are being told the end at the beginning. I never read the last page in case I die before I finish the book, although I know plenty of people who do! So to start with I didn’t like this book very much. But I stuck with it while it described some of the other characters in the book, and before long I ... ...were raped and abused by Gideon but strangely he never needed to use force. He could command obedience at will, and only had to tell the women which motel or back alley to meet him and they would. The women have nothing in common. One is happily married to her childhood sweetheart, with two young sons. Another is a well-known, gay newsreader. The other is a young woman with a baby and a very unpleasant alcoholic husband who thinks nothing of beating ...
