...the pentium 4 tho as i got a very good deal plus i didnt know much about the new PENTIUM D but im glad i chose the PENTIUM 4 as i could tell straight away it was noticeabley faster compared against my older AMD processor running at 2.06 ghz .
Programs run almost 3 times faster than they did on my older system and the inclusion of 2 gigabyte of ddr2 memmory make this even more of a power horse,

Advantages: cheap overclocking abilities gd looking build quality highly upgradable Disadvantages: asus wbsite very slow when wanting to dl updates
...if you are looking to upgrade your pc for gaming on a tight budget this is the best place to start for £70 you deffinatley get your moneys worth with all the features included
i bought mine when they was first released it was buggy but once the bios was updated all was fine
this board is the heart of one of my kick ass machines and that is exactly what it will do

asus website very slow when wanting to download updates
why pay £150 for a striker extreme when this is half that
p.s my freind has the striker and i dont feel a diference at all apart from the striker boots up slower too much junk in its bios
the p5n is stripped to the core for performance all unneeded removed
it is easy to install and set up with good istructions to do so
and will even fit...

It would be possible to go on forever about this device, but I intend to keep the techno babble to a minimum. Or at least that's the plan. As such I'm going to go through the main features in detail and then talk a little bit about the other bits.
The motherboard is very well designed and if anyone is interested comes with a slick black finish to the PCB (printed circuit board) and some interesting heatsinks draped across the board.
The first thing I thought when I saw these heatsinks was 'bugger'. They look pretty and they mean that you have no whiney little 40mm fans on the board (the smaller the fan the more high pitched the noise it produces, generally you can get fans between 12mm and 180mm).
