Advantages: Plethora of Connectivity options, powerful on-board IGP (HD3200), future proof Disadvantages: No heatsinks for Voltage Regulators
IGPs have come a long way and have become almost comparable to the discrete graphics of today. One such example is the AMD’s 780G chipset, that features ATi’s HD3200 Graphics integrated into the Northbridge.
The motherboardGA-MA78GM-S2H from Gigabyte is based on the 780G chipset. Apart from the obvious feature of it being one of the first ever IGP supporting DX 10 and Hybrid Crossfire support, it has a plethora of connectivity options, that’ll be keeping most of the customers happy. This board has the standard
PCIe x16 2.0,
PCIe x1
2 X PCI
1 IDE (supporting 2 IDE devices)
5 X 3Gb/s connectors
1 X eSATA 3Gb/s on the back panel

REVIEW FOR ASUS M4A78 PRO purchased from LUCMOS.CO.UK
PROS: Built in video (VGA, HDMI, DVI), fiber optic out, RAID 0,1,5,10, JBOD; capable of locating and flashing bios under windows; 6 SATA slots, potential of 12 USB; 3 PCI slots handy to recycle various cards from old computer (ie old TV card)
CONS: Bios only partially recognizes my Microsoft wireless photo keyboard set (mouse, not keyboard); Utilizing the optical out blocks one USB out (TOO CLOSE TOGETHER), No Firewire inputs on board (yet STILL with COM1 and floppy inputs?!)
Other Thoughts: This was an open box item for 65 quid all in which Lucmpos indicates will not ship with the full complement of stuff, but I was expecting the I/O backing to at least cover up the back of my tower for this system of outputs...Alas, no. This baby shipped with just the board and non else ...
Advantages: HDTV output, supports AMDs Cool 'n' Quiet Disadvantages: Only one lan
The ASUS M2NPV-VM Motherboard for AMD single-core Athlon 64/ Sempron and Dual-core Athlon 64 X2/ Athlon FX processors using socket AM2 is very user friendly, I went with AMDs 64 x2 3800+ processor in the beginning then moved up to 4200+ 2Gb Ram without any hassle, very easy to setup and fits easily in a standard ATX case. A possible downside to the board is that it has a limited number of slots due to being a microATX sized board. That's not a big deal for me as the only two cards I'll be buying in the future is Graphics and a extra Lan card.
