Manufacturer's product description
Gigabyte has been producing motherboards ever since the 486s era. Stability has always been the main focus for the design of their mainboards. Everything that Gigabyte promotes in its advertisements works well and is useful...quality and stability are unquestionably excellent...this is an excellent motherboard! GA-6VA is a Pentium II/III/Celeron processor based PC/AT compatible motherboard with AGP/PCI/ISA bus. With the VIA Apollo Pro AGPset it has been designed to be one of the fastest PC/AT motherboards.
Advantages: Lots of expansion bays, varitity of them (isa, pci, apg) Disadvantages: May be too compact for prossesors with large fans
...It is a ATX based motherboard, with lots of space for expansion though the three ISA based slots and though four PCI based slots. With a award bios I have personally found it easy to adjust the features to suit my needs. I have found just one small problem with the motherboard which is that the power connector is too close to the IDE
connector making it difficult to connect an large IDE connector to the motherboard, for example the silver aerodynamic IDE bus cable I use to improve cooling. I feel that the slot1 connector is well spaced out from large components which makes it easy to fit the processor, although the heatsink for the co-processor is a bit too big, but this is a problem that is easily solved by replacing it. Overall I was impressed by the preformance of the board and feel it is well designed, Gigabyte have done it again....

Advantages: cheap, does the job Disadvantages: graphics card obscures one of the pci express slots
...Having no idea which Motherboard we needed to buy, we looked on the internet to see what was going for what price.
Having used Gigabye Motherboards in the past and never had any trouble with them the wisest thing to do was to keep to Gigabyte.
We decided on the GigabyteGA-945P-DS3 purely on the features it offered.
Cost
Around £46. For a motherboard this is good.
