I have used Bic Disposable razors on and off for a number of years now. I do not rate them very highly but sometimes have to resort to them when I temporarily run out of blades for my usual wet shave razor, the Gillette GII Plus, or if I am staying with friends or relatives and forget to take my GII razor with me.
The last time I bought a packet I paid £1 for a packet of 5 in a "Pound shop" but I have seen them priced a little higher than this elsewhere.
Each razor is made of plastic and has a single metal blade in it. It is similar in design to standard design re-usable razors and therefore easy to grip with your hand and easy to place and direct on your facial hair areas. The razor is marketed as unisex but I can not comment on how ladies get on with it for leg hair or arm hair shaving.
You definitely need to wet your face with warm water and apply shaving foam before using the Bic to shave with.
The problem I have found using the Bic is that I have to be very, very careful and deliberate when using it or else I will get a lot of small cuts on my face. Even being careful I usually get one or two cuts and if I used it in the same freedom of movement way that I use my regular razor it would cut me a number of times.
I am not sure why it tends to cut me. It could be because the quality and sharpness of blade is not as good as it could be or it could be because the plastic head containing the blade does not glide across the skin as well as a metal head does.
You can get away with re-using the razor a couple of times but the same thing in my experience applies which is to use it slowly and deliberately to avoid cuts.
