Experience ************* Been shaving for over 25 years and have tried most of the razor blades on the market, from the disposable, heads with 1, 2, 3, and 4 blades, have even dabbled a little with an electric shaver without success. It's not that I'm not happy with the razors I use more that I hate shaving and when the next product comes along you have to have it just to see if shaving becomes a more pleasurable experience.
New razor on the block ************************** Gillette introduce the Fusion Power Razor and can you believe it, it has a total of 6 blades, 5 on the front and 1 on the back for trimming. But even I cannot justify going out and spending that sort of money on a razor.
Price:- £9.99 with only 1 head, daylight robbery especially when replacement heads are £8 for 4. Since they first come out prices have dropped you can pick the razor up for about £6 and the blades £3.50 for 4. Even at this price a little steep, luckily mine was in a sale £6.99 with 8 heads free now that's more like it.
Looks ******** This is more like Dr Who's sonic screwdriver, shiny silver mixes with luminous orange and matt silver, with ridges galore. The Gillette logo prominent on the handle, this razor looks like one futuristic bit of kit.
Comfort :- The razor sits comfortable in the hand and feels lightweight, even with the AAA battery inside. The middle area of the razor has a rubbery feel and this with the ridges stop the razor slipping out of your hand when wet.
Changing head/battery :- To change the battery you just twist the bottom and insert the battery not complicated at all. Connecting and removing the razor head has to be the easiest of all the razors I have used. The razor has a 1 button system you just push on the head to connect and press the button to remove.
Razor Head ************** The head has a lubricating strip, which seemed to come off quite quickly but did not effect the shaving for me. Soft rubber ridges under the blade are designed to lift the stubble for a closer shave.
5 blades :- One of the reasons the promoters say it is better to have 5 blades is to reduce the amount of times you need to shave the same area which they say helps prevent razor burn, but if your using a single blade you are only running 1 blade across your skin so surely this must cause less razor burn than running 5 across. More blades also mean the hairs can clog the blades up more and this is a problem. Even with the 5 blades I still seem to run over the same area to get a really good clean shave.
Trimming blade :- This was one of the reasons this attracted me to the razor, but what a let down it is. It is very difficult to get the correct angle so it trims and around the moustache next to impossible. It's much easier just using the normal side.
Longevity :- The blades do seem to last a long time except the strip which seems to fall off, so are not to badley priced due to this.
Vibration :- Sometimes I forget to turn on the razor and to be honest it makes no difference to the shave, so to save a couple of £'s you may as well get the none battery operated razor.
Conclusion ************* Very disappointed really, trimmer rubbish, vibration made no difference and even with 5 blades I was still shaving the same area over as much as usual. To be honest the Wilkinson Sword Quattro is a much better razor and once my blades for the Fusion are used up I'll be back with that.

Very good review. In my opinion this type of 'electric vibrating' razor is just a waste of time.

You've hit the nail on the head there. The whole "power" thing is a total disgrace. As if we want to shave with a razor that does not stay still! There have been no significant advancements in shaving technology since the days of Gillette Sensor with the possible exception of Wilkinson's protector bars. Great review.
