**THE RAZOR** Anyway now that my face has finally started sprouting hairs, razors are alot more helpful when that happens, I've realised quite how good it is. The basic design is a sleek silver metal handle displaying both the brand and razor name in raised lettering, so you know you're using a mach 3 turbo, unlike most other razors i've seen that just have it written on the side which comes off straight away. Superficial I know but its all part of the quality. For a firm good grip it has a rubber coating on the other side specifically tectured to stop it slipping out your hands like a bar of soap. On the top facing side it has 3 rubber bands again for ease of grip btw they are grey the original colour not that new stupid red one (its a all new design apparently, oh no they just changed the colour and added a pound to the price!). One other part of the razor is the powerful quick release button on the blade end. This enables you to easily remove the blade by pushing the button forward, this should of a warning sticker on it though as it will fire your blade across the bathroom, its that powerful.
**THE BLADE** The blade that comes with it is the mach3 turbo blades, exactly the same as mach3 blades and the two are both compatible with both razors so kinda don't see the point in paying extra money for turbo blades when the only difference i can find is the conditioning strip is green instead of blue and white, so im now using regular mach3 blades. However turbo blades come free with it so i'll describe them. As the advert describes there are three blades, positiones close together in order to get a closer shave, they face one way so you have to shave in the direction of hair growth as with most razors. Above the blades is a conditioning strip which does what it says on the label conditions, basically so it glides along your face better, very handy if you've run out of shaving foam I can tell you. Below the blade is a set of five microfins that do what you would expect them togather up the shaving foam, simple. The head also pivots, as do many i know, so it isn't unique but it allows it to "follow the contours of your face" so the advert tells me. The only complaint i would have of the blade is that it doesn't let the hair go anywhere so it clogs up with hair quickly, so you have to rinse it continuously whilst shaving and give it a good rinsing afterwards. But a minor hassle
**COST** It cost me £5.49 (although cheaper now approx £4) when i first bought it and it came with two free blades, this is kinda dear for a manual razor but nothing thats gonna break the bank. And compared to the quality of the shave, which i'll get to and the price it is alot more economical than any electric shaver and it won't burn your skin. The blades however can be quite expensive depending on where you shop. A set of 4 turbo blades can set you as far back as £6-7 More than the razor! Although as i've already said you may as well buy the regular mach3 blades. I bought a new set of 4 yesterday from boots for £3.50, although you may find them slightly more expensive from other shops, my advice shop around.
** THE SHAVE** Well what can i say it's close, in fact its very close, no stubble whatsoever after shaving which i've found when borrowing mates razors. It glides straight across your face without rubbing or irritating the skin so you don't get a shaving rash (don't quote me on this it may be different if your skin is highly sensitive, ok). Its also good for all types of shaving whether its just getting rid of morning stubble, so you can cuddle up with your lady (or male, if you're that way inclined) friend. Or for more major image changes I went on holiday for four weeks didn't shave at all when i got back my face was a bush of bum fluff. But the razor seemed to do the trick.
**RELIABILITY** So far I have had no problems with my razor in the 3 years i've owned it. As it is metal it is very durable and won't break if you drop it or stand on it. Most of my friends have Mach3 or turbo and they've never had a problem either. The blades last quite a while i shave every other day and think i've been through half a dozen in 2 years of "proper shaving" Which is quite good so expenditure is about £4 a year max. They stay sharp for quite a long time what normally happens is the conditioning strip runs out first but is not a problem as long as you use shaving foam or gel or similar.
**MISCELLANEOUS** With the razor comes a plastic stand for you to keep your razor on when you aren't using it and store two spare sets of blades on the underside, which is nice. Although if you're like me you'll either lose it, break it, throw it out or all three. But as they go its just excess packaging which you don't need so unimportant
Overall the Mach3 turbo is a very good manual razor with long lasting blades and highly durable. It is great for those teens getting their first razor as to be quite blunt you would have to be stupid to be able to hurt yourself or irritate your skin using this razor. Trust me i remember fifth form quite alot of guys would come in wearing about eight plasters on their face cos they'd borrowed their dads cut throat razor. Altghough it is good for anyone that shaves, old young, male and even female
Advantages: Good close shave, strong and durable, safe and easy Disadvantages: pricey replacement blades and a drunken stand
Oddly, I received a Gillete mach 3 Turbo razor on Christmas day as some kind of weird stocking filler. Not that I’m complaining as the cheap disposable razors I had being previously using left me looking like a guillotine victim. The Mach 3 Turbo comes with a plastic stand that is to be fair a little flimsy and unsteady on its feet. The front of the stand holds a plastic clip that is used to mount the razor, whilst the rear of the stand holds spare ... ...plastic box, which holds up to 5 mach three blades. Somehow (and I don’t know if this is just me) the stand acts like a shaving foam/tooth paste dirt magnet. Any loose gunk in my bathroom from hair gel, to toilet role fragments get stuck to this shiny stand leaving me no choice to hide it from visitors and guests. The handle is a neatly shaped steel and rubber contraption that is stylish and useful at the same time. The rubber grip stops the razor ...

...a new razor. The Gillette Mach 3 Turbo and I thought my dreams had come true.
The Gillette Mach 3 Turbo is supposed to be the best razor around at the moment. It’s triple blade head supposedly gives you a closer shave than ever before. What it actually did in my case was give me such a close shave that it took not only all the hair off, but half the face as well. The promises are there in the advert. Close shave and no irritation, even if ... ...watching the advert for the Gillette Mach Turbo I went the next day to the shop to buy the razor. I was amazed at the relatively cheap price (You can get it for about £6.00 - £7.00 depending on where you go and you get two free blades). I was so confident that the Turbo was the razor for me that I even bought a pack of six extra blades. Using hindsight that was probably one of the most stupid things I have ever done. Anyway I took it home and up ...

Advantages: Clean, Smooth, Comftable Disadvantages: Price On Blades
...A few years later standard Gillette Mach 3 was released - the first 3 triple bladed model and then a little while after that the Mach 3 Turbo followed with the only difference being that the Mach 3 Turbo blades have a small 'moisturising' strip on the top edge.
For quite a while I resisted buying one for two reasons - firstly the cost (they were quite pricey when they first came out) and secondly I thought that all I would gain would be a extra ... ...them on offer in Boots (they are always on offer in Tesco or Asda) and by this time a friend had purchased one and though they were well worth investing in - so I took the plunge and purchased one (for about £5 with two blades).
The razor itself, as with most Gilletes is nicely weighted and has a good ergonomic shape, although this isn't all that hard to do with a razor. The body is finished in a gloss gun metal gray (which stands the test of time ...

Advantages: A super close shave, ergonomic design, very little in the way of cuts etc even with my sensitive skin Disadvantages: takes a little "tooing and froing" to get the best shave, expensive, results depend an awful lot on the shaving gel used.
I first stated using Gillette razors back in 1979 when the first Gillette GII came out and I was 17 to remove the tiny little fragments of hair I had around my face which was impersonasting a beard. The shave was an experience which resulted in no cuts but a peculiar numb sensation which lasted all day.
Since then, with my stubble getting denser and denser, I have tried a variey of razors such as Wilkinson (Okish), an Hitachi Electric Razor (good ... ...still got), Bic disposable (terrible), Gillette Disposable (tolerable) then the Gillette Mach 3 (brilliant).
So Iif I was so happy with Gillette Mach 3 why try the Mach 3 Turbo?
Well the answer was that I found the Mach 3 Turbo on special offer at Superdrug Wolverhampton for £2.49 including two free blades. So instead of spending over a fiver for four blades I could buy two at the same unit cost, have a free razor included and check out the claims ...

...just so happened that recently, Gillette were giving away their new Mach 3 Turbo razor free, so one fell through the letterbox one morning and thus became my new shaving tool.
LOOKS
While items such as razors leave little room for fundamental design innovation, every product today has some sort of flashy design, from toothbrushes to shampoo bottles. The Mach 3 Turbo is no different, with a rubber grip handle and wide razor head. The razor heads ... ...advertising gimmicks.
Another claim Gillette makes is that the three blades provide the closest shave around. In my personal experience, while the result is undeniably good, there isn’t a vast difference when compared with other razors. And as for the smoothest shave, I’m not quite sure. The shave is smooth if the stubble is short, but with longer or coarser hairs, such as around the chin, the Mach 3 Turbo does seem to struggle and scrape. ...

Advantages: Smells Nice, Good Quality Product Disadvantages: Quite Expensive
Shaving is one of those daily chores that I tend to often do on autopilot, half asleep and often feeling slightly groggy first thing in a morning. I have never been a fan of Electric Shavers and therefore I have always opted for a traditional wet shave.
Despite the extra time and effort required I do find that a wet shave leaves me feeling nice and refreshed and usually helps to wake me up. Having said that I don't claim to enjoy shaving, it is simply a necessity, but the experience can be made more pleasant by choosing a good Razor and a good Shaving Gel.
I use a GilletteMach3TurboRazor and Gillette Shaving Gel for Sensitive Skin. This Shaving Gel is by no means the cheapest brand on the market and at around £1.89 for a 200ml can it is probably at the upper end of the price scale but is something that I have bought ...
Advantages: Extreme shaving comfort Disadvantages: Cost, difficulty in acquiring product
When Noxell Corporation first introduced Noxzema mentholated shaving foam back in the late 1960s, I was a young man first being exposed to shaving. At the time, I had to contend with the old single blade razors, which nicked and cut ones face quite regularly. Hence, it became of prime importance to find the most comfortable approach to the unavoidable necessity of daily shaving. Being that other shaving foams left my face hot and razor burned, and, in the wake of the damage left behind by the old single blade razor, my discovery of Noxzema Menthol shave was truly an unmitigated blessing!
Noxzema Menthol shaving foam provides a cooling, refreshing feeling, and leaves ones face soft, smooth, and clean. This, combined with my own personal use of the modern GilletteMach3Turborazor system, provides me the most comfortable ...
My first shave was with horrendous Bic razors...I didn't have too much money to blow and for a year I used the same 5 razors, so I didn't know much better.
I received this Gillette Fusion razor as a Christmas present this year, and I can honestly say it's horrendous. The cheap Bic razors did a better job than this! The razor seemed to be too wide, and just not shaving close enough - Maybe this is because of the wideness of the blades.
However, the precision trimmer is excellent I must say. It's interesting how this 1 blade is better than the 5 in the normal shaving head of this razor.
Since I have bought a GilletteMach3Turbo, and I have found this to be EXCELLENT. I do miss the precision trimmer, however the closeness and quality of the shave makes up for this. ...
