...as I've tried out a Gillette Shave Gel before and it did not smell enticing. I've never tried Apricot-scented beauty products before, but if they all smell this good I'd definitely buy more! It was a light fruity smell and I knew that it would make my skin smell nice.

Throughout the years I've been shaving, I must've tried about 50 different shaving products at least! Having only been employed a year and before that I was a student, I was on a small budget for a long time of this 'research'!
Finding cheap shaving products is practically non-existent, and if on a rare occasion you do come across a bargain, chances are the razors you've brought are blunt or only last one use, or the shaving gel you've purchased doesn't protect your delicate skin from the wrath of the aforementioned blunt razor!
I knew Gilette was a good name having seen the brand around supermarkets and drug stores for a while and seeing TV adverts but the products always seemed expensive. When I spied this shaving gel on sale for £1 in Tesco's, I leapt at the chance to try it out for this bargain price.
I used it straightaway when I got home. When I squirted a bit of gel out of the can into my hand, I was relieved that it had a delicious fruity smell, as I've tried out a Gillette Shave Gel before and it did not smell enticing. I've never tried Apricot-scented beauty products before, but if they all smell this good I'd definitely buy more! It was a light fruity smell and I knew that it would make my skin smell nice.
I rubbed the gel between my hands to lather it up and was pleasantly surprised to see that even just a small amount of gel produced a lot of foam! It didn't take long or very much gel to smother my legs in the gel/foam and when I used the razor, I was impressed to see that I didn't experience a single nick or cut as I usually do. (The amount of times I've had to stick plasters on my legs right after bathing due to cutting myself with cheap razors or by using rubbish shaving gel!).
Afterwards, I was pleased with the outcome. I had smooth legs (and had only used a medium-quality throwaway razor) that lasted at least a couple of days before stubble grew back, and as I said before, my legs smelt really nice. I normally moisturise after shaving but felt like I didn't need to after using this, because it left my skin really soft.
The can is really pretty, in pinks and oranges, and does not look unpleasant when sitting in your shower rack or around the bath as some cheap cans of shaving foam do. It has the Gilette logo across the front so is easily spotted on a supermarket shelf. The packaging is ergonomically-friendly, with a plastic lid that has carved ridges into it so it is easy to get off when you've got wet hands from the shower/bath. The pump which you use to get the gel out is easy to use too, which is handy when, again, you've got wet hands.
I find that the normal price of this gel is between £2.70 and £3.00, but often Gilette products like these are on offer in Superdrug, Boots and in supermarkets, so I suggest keeping your eyes peeled for sales and offers. As I said, I picked this up for £1 and it was definitely worth it.
Now that I'm in employment I do continue to buy this. It is a little more than what I'm comfortable spending on shaving gel, but it is definitely worth it if you're after super smooth legs and no cuts. The fact that I don't need to use very much means the can lasts longer anyway, so it's possible that I do actually save money.
All you girles I recommend you try this out because it is great :D
Advantages: It works, it leaves your legs smooth and it smells lovely Disadvantages: The dried product is powdery and a bit messy
Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel - Radiant Apricot
As I'm party girl and I'm quite hairy (I hate it), I have to find ways to get rid of it quick and fast. I've tried everything from Nair to painful waxing but I still find that shaving is the option that I'm most comfortable with. I used to use shampoos and conditioners to shave with but after awhile, I found that I was getting a bit of shaving rash so I went to Boots, armed with my Boots card and looked ... ...then one stood out. Gillette for Woman. Satin Care. Radiant Apricot. It looked inviting with its orange and pink packaging. Plus it said it was NEW on the top. I just love to try new products. So I grabbed the can, got some new Venus vibrating razors to go with it and off to the till I went.
I paid £2.99 for a can of 200ml. Though, I have see it now in Bodycare for £1.99 but at the time, I bought it was so new, I assumed they didn't have it.
My ...

Advantages: close shave, moisturising, foams well, smells great Disadvantages: quite expensive for a product you use regularly
...most, but I trust the Gillette brand so felt it worth paying the extra pennies for.
The can is an aerosol and pumps the gel out for application. This took a bit of pressure initially but after the first application was easy to use. The gel was a orange colour and smelt fantastic. It had a really fruity scent, predominantely (and unsurprisingly) of apricot, that filled my bathroom. Only a small amount of the gel was needed for a full leg application, ... ...At first the foam was a little sticky and thick and not very easy to spread, but on adding a little water to the application area, this was quickly rectified.
What I liked about using this product was that you can clearly see and identify which areas have already been shaved. It gave a really close shave as it allowed the razor to glide more easily than soap does and left me with smooth soft legs. The apricot oil in the gel was really moisturising ...

Advantages: Gives a good shave, good price, very gente - no irritation. Disadvantages: The aroma is a little too artificial...
The whole of this Satin Care range is pretty good. It usually leaves my skin quite soft and most importantly without irritation, as I have very sensitive skin.
The gel is very easy to apply, it foams almost immediately on application - although it's usually better to dampen the area with some water beforehand to give a better, closer and easier shave.
Choosing this particular one is really all down to personal taste. Many will probably be very ... ...remember that ths one is for apricots and peaches.
For me, and I say this is all down to personal preference - I usually associate apricots and peaches to gentle aromas. But since this is offering 'radiant' peach - it is meant to give a much stronger punch to your senses, apparantly.
Well, it certainly does! And unfortunately, it simple isn't pleasant. They've used a lovely gentle scent and tried to vamp it up and turn it into a vixen - the result ...

Advantages: is quick and easy to use Disadvantages: isnt the best smelling
I was very pleased to finally find a product like this on the market that was so easy to use, and it wasnt expensive either!
To use this gel, you simply have to squirt a small amount onto wet skin and lather up before shaving. The gel becomes foam when lathered up, and is removed when the razor glides over your skin. This is also a good benefit as it shows exactly where you have shaved.
It gives great protection, and reduces the risk of cutting ... ...i would say is average. Its not a horrible smell, but its not the best ive ever smelt. If they did the same stuff in a different scent, i would look into that one in preference to this.
The gel is, however, good value for money. The foam in the can lasts a long time, as it doesnt need much to cover both your legs. Its a good gel that provides a good, close shave, and it is suitable for sensitive skin too.
If you want a quick solution that will ...
