It has always been the game of big business. Sell the user the basic product at the cheapest possible price and then screw them in the spares that are necessary in order to continue to use that product. Many products fall into this catergory especially things like automobiles and electrical...

ProVery close shave

ConsA bit pricey

Well we've all seen the adverts on the telly "The best a man can get" (Gillette) and ones with a plane zooming about through tower blocks, putting windows out and generally waking everybody up!(mach 3) So whats it all about? Its about trying to get you to buy something to remove the unwanted hair...

ProGood shave

ConsExpensive blades

In these days of more and more blades being put into a razor cartridge, you wonder where it will end ? Anyway, I digress, After seeing their EXCELLent 2 blade razor, I decided to give it a try, thinking that 2 blades must be better than one. I was correct, the blades certainly give a good shave...

ConsReplacement blades are expensive

For many years now I have used a Gillette Mach3 razor and I had never had any problems with it to make me want to replace it with something else. On a shopping trip earlier this year however I made a bit of a boob and instead of picking up a packet of replacement blades for my Gillette Mach3 I...

ProGlides easily over your face

Consnone it is the best in my eyes

I am a man, who hates shaving. It irritates my skin and leaves me feeling sore. If I wanted the clean shaven look all the time, I would have to shave every couple of days. Instead, I shave once a week, if I can be bothered. That was until, I came across this razor. I have tried various razors...

ProVery good smooth close shave

Consa bit expensive

It is part of my terms of employment that I must shave every day, so its much better for me to find the right razor for the job, as disposables often leave my face sore and Having watched the adverts on the telly, it seems that Gillette pretty much have cornered the market here and that was my...

Progood, shave.

ConsBad shave?

This was the first razor i ever used. I got it on special offer for about £2.99 and was pleseantly surprised at the quality. There are only two blades, but i dont think this really makes much difference. About a year after using this I switched to mach3, and there was only a very slight...

Not for me

published 28/12/2008

I have used a sensor excell for many years & have, until recently, found that I could get as many as 14 shaves from one blade, however in the last 2-months I have used 15 blades as they become blunt very quickly. I tried to contact Gillette via e-mail, but there is no way of contacting them through their " all singing all dancing" website. Could it be that Gillettte are beating the credit crunch by ensuring that we all have to buy more blades??? This, formally loyal customer, will be trying a new product soon unless the quality improves.

Not for me

published 23/09/2007

As a man of 54 years I have spent a hell of a large amount on Gillette products over the years but since I purchased a Sensor Excel I have now decided to buy an electric razor as I am sick of paying over the top prices for crappy blades that are blunt after one or two shaves and all they seem to do is cut your face to shit. Yet another rip off service by another greedy company.

“This is my chioce.”

published 26/03/2001

ProSmooth, very controllable.

ConsNone that I can think of.

I started with an electric razor. I think my Mum got me this for Christmas in an attempt to recognise my ascent into adolescence. I did use it for a time blissfully unaware of what I was missing out on. The shaving adverts on the T.V went way over my head. If Gillette had been endorsed by The A...

Progood value for money

Consnone that I can think of

I have used the Sensor Excel razors for many years and I have been pleased with the shaving results but find the cost of replacement blades prohibitive. I tried a pack of 10 twin blades with lubricating strip from ASDA costing £3.49 expecting them to be inferior but I was wrong. They are not...

Consoriginal sensor excel blades are expensive

I have not migrated yet from Gillette Sensor Excel to any of the various more recent offerings. On the whole, I am happy with this product. My main gripe is the price of the blades, with packs averaging typically 60p to 70p per blade. On a recent visit to Superdrug I noticed a new own-brand razor...

“Gillete No1”

Proclean shave

Consnone

This is one of the best womens razors around. With a clean shave it leaves your legs silky smooth. The blue part on the blade is a moisturiser. Hair goes away for about 3 days which is quite good. The razor cost £3.79 but it's worth the money and not as painful as an electric shaver. Gillette are...

“Tips”

ProAbout as good as it gets

Consas they say, expensive blades

Yes the blades are expensive but if you go to somewhere like Costco they are much cheaper, it's a while since I bought my last lot but they sell them in bulk packs and they are a lot cheaper, I'd be surprised if you can't buy them cheaply on the internet too. Second tip and I want everyone to try...

Progood clean shave

Consexpensive blades

When i first started shaving was when i was 14, (now 20), but after wards my mum went mad, and told me, my leg hairs will come back all black and thicker. So now i wish i had never had done it. (All mums are right). So after that my mum would buy me the expensive razors, i got bought the...
