The Can.

I can wholly agree with this statement when it comes to their Shaving Foams.
The Can. Boring and bland or functional and finessed? Well, both I suppose. I mean, what is supposed to do? Squirt Foam out of a container and onto your hand efficiently! Not exctly Rocket Science is it? Well, yes it is. Some Foams come in awkward to use cans with fiddly nozzles that are hard to press when you have a soapy hand or an eyeful of shampoo. (look who is disorganised in the mornings!) So Gilette have come up with a handy sized container, with a grippy single finger useage nozzle. The container itself is a silver can with the Gilette logo and design all over the front. Holding it in one hand will not cause you to slip or drop it. No No! They have incorporated the top of th ecan into the nozzle with a 4 ringed grip around the top! Very easy to hold and direct.
The Nozzle Action. It gushes out of the can with some ferocity. In fact, you end up wasting a bit of foam as it does not stop immediately. Instead, it continues to leavce the can for a few seconds afterwards leaving a mess around the nozzle. So its costing a few unwanted pennies here in waste. It also leaves the can looking a bit unsightly.
The Foam. Smooth and creamy is the best way to describe it. Very thick in application and very gentle on the skin. You dont need too much to cover your face so it goes a long way. A bit like Fairy on your hands! Some foams are very bubbly and fluffy and end up floating off but not this stuff. It gets to work right where you want it. On your face.
Irritability? It cause no irritation to me at all. Some foams leave me looking a little red in the face or itchy but this doesnt. A superb foam for those with sensitive skin.
The Shave. Smooth. Very Smooth. It leaves me feeling so clean after wards. The Razor glides effortlessly over my chin,neck and cheeks without a single nick and instead leaves me with a clean and fresh feel. Most of this is to do with the foam. IT almost remoisturises as it cleans and protexts my face during the shaving process.
The Smell. Refreshing and clean is the best way to describe the fragrance. Its not a harsh manly smell nor is it a flowery girlie smell. This smells like....SHAVING FOAM smells!
The Price? Reasonable. You can pick it up for under £3 in most supermarkets or Superdrug and much cheaper in a lot of places. OK you can buy a cheaper foam but why bother? You face can be your selling point in some jobs so treat it with the love and attention it deserves. I do!
Advantages: Branded product, added ingredients to make your shave more comforatable and benifitting Disadvantages: Most foams to be are the same

So what makes Gillette different from the rest. Not much really. All shaving foams basically provide you with the same rich and creamy lather so that you can get a close and comfortable shave.
I was and am still in someway under the impression that it's not really the foam or gel that counts in the shave. The primary reason is the type of razor or blade that you use. Take for example the Gillette Sensor, these blades already have a lubrastrip ... ...face.
So why is Gillette foam my choice and the choice of many others. I think the main reason is physological. Most of use use the Gillette Razors and instinctively feel that we should use the Gillette range of foams and gels in order to achieve the best shave. Another reason would be the companies reptuable name and thirdly the range of products that they provide, all in relation to your shaving experience.

Advantages: Provides a very close shave when combined with a good razor Disadvantages: When shaving against the grain, becomes important to shave slowly
...the combined use of a Gillette sensor razor blade and the foam I am able to get the closest shave I have ever managed. (I was also able to get a similar shave with the Tesco’s version).
So why spend the extra few pennies on Gillette’s foam? Well part of the problem with the Tesco variety is that after a while the ‘foam’ that comes out is very flat – it seems that the lasting power of Tesco’s foam is very short ... ...little cleaner after using the Gillette foam – I am sure that some of the chemicals used in the foam must have the ability to clean my pores or something – this is not essential for me as there are a million and one cleansers that do this for me without having to shave!
So is this foam the be all and end all of foams – it really comes down to personal choice. In my experience the bottle lasts longer than others and I rarely cut ...

...assistant who instantly recommended the Gillette Foamy shaving cream from personal experience and said it has lots of lovely ingredients to help soothe and smooth the way. Err ok, I thought, seems as good a choice as any. So, to the actual use. Well, I am glad to say that the can itself is quite well designed so its not too slippy in the notoriously wet conditions of the morning bathroom. The pump action nozzle has a nicely grooved slot for your ... ...a definite now that should anything happen and I need to wet shave I will definitely use the Gillette Foamy to help ease the process as it did make a positive difference in my shaving experience. I have since seen a Sensitive skin version and next time will try that. ...

...gently on a can of Gillette Shaving Foam.
It seems our esteemed visitors from Gillette have a particular preoccupation with things Scandinavian for alongside the standard Brit notes you also get Finnish, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian cluelets and there’s clearly something very worrying going on –
Alighting first upon the hurdy gurdy Norwegian mystery blurb I find some pretty concerning instructions about something called fyldigere skum ... ...the Mach 3 shaving system because apparently then it leaves Go Faster Boy Racer stripes all over your mug and you know those nice Norwegians at Gillette wouldn’t push their own product without good reason – I mean those Scandinavians are so impossibly honest and open – bedre barbering, everyone! ...

...looked at the packet of Gillette Foam that sat there staring at me. I gave in, and, similar to the Colgate Whitening toothpaste (see seperate opinion), I decided I would give it a two week trial period.
It all began pretty well. I would shave once a day - in the morning, and it felt just like my old one, except I was smothering more pennies over my cheek. So I was pretty happy, I just felt ripped off. But, then things began to worsen...
...After ... ...much nicer than my new Gillette which stank of chemicals.
I tried using Gillete one day, Waitrose Premier the next. It wasn't as bad, but sure enough the Gillette aggrevated my skin. As it happens, I have just scratched my face! The days dragged on, and I went back to my usual product. But, then there was a crisis. I ran out of my usual stuff and so did the only Waitrose near me - I had to use the Gillette for TWO WEEKS!
