The Gillette Series Shaving Gel comes in a 195g(200ml) pressurised can with a precision jet nozzle for ease of use. The nozzle ensures really easy dispensation, and full control over both the direction and the amount of gel you use.
The can is silver and green with a black push on lid. The Gillette Series logo is plainly on the top of the front of the can, ensuring that it is easily recognisable as a Gillette Series product. Underneath this is a picture of some gel, and the word gel, written in quite large letters, ensuring that you can easily tell exactly what the product is without having to read the small print.
On the back of the can is the small print, which tells you exactly what the product does and how it works. There are no directions, but these are not needed as it is really easy to use.
The gel itself is a light green colour, which turns to a smooth white lather when applied to the skin. The lather is very fine, and not at all foamy, which means that it doesn't clog up your razor.
The gel has a really fresh, clean smell, which gets slightly stronger when applied, but remains quite a light masculine scent, which is not at all overpowering. And another plus is that my girlfriend loves the smell!
The gel is extremely smooth, which helps the razor to glide easily through it, giving the closest shave possible. Best results can be achieved by using with the Gillette Mach 3 shaving system. The gel contains advanced lubricants and emollients for unsurpassed razor glide, which means less strokes, and therefore less irritation. The smooth texture of the gel also helps to prevent cuts from shaving.
The gel is suitable for sensitive skin, and contains skin conditioners and moisturisers to help protect the skin, and keep it feeling soft and smooth(another one for your girlfriend!)
As Gillette is a major brand, it is available in most good stores, and is really easy to find.
The gel costs £2.95, which is an excellent price for such a quality product. I highly recommend this product.
Advantages: Great shave, especially with a mach 3 Disadvantages: quite pricey
Okay i'll admit it, Gillette has won me over completely, i'm using the mach 3 and the artic ice gel, and i don't think i'll ever go back. Having spent years having to put up with a poor shave from standard BIC type razors used with any old cheap foams. When i first changed over i couldn't believe the difference. The gel comes out as this green, well, gel. It quickly expands (i guess in the air) into a creamy gel, this works perfectly bringing up ... ...irritate or cut by smoothing the skin.
The gel itself it mildly scented with a fresh smell which is nice without being strong. You might want to watch what aftershave you use with it though, i use Fusion at the moment.
The only problem i have found is that the gel is pushed out if you put the cap on wrong, which then expands so by the next morning some of the nozzle is covered in the half dried remains of the gel. Also it's not the cheapest of ...
