I bought this razor when they first came out. I have had other Venus razors and have thought they were the best razors I had ever used, so when I went on holiday and forgot my razor it was a natural choice for me to get another one.
The Venus Vibrance razor is different to the normal Venus razors as you can put a battery in it so that will vibrate as you as shaving. This is meant to exfoliate your legs as you shave and give you a closer shave.
The razor comes in a pink colour (which I really like!) and has a white rubbery grip around it so that it is easier to hold so you won't drop it (it can get quite hard with a smooth plastic razor in the shower - I am quite clumsy!) The bottom of the razor twists off so that you can insert the battery. It takes one AAA battery. The seal at the bottom of the razor where the battery is stored is waterproof so that you can use it in the shower. It would be pretty pointless if it wasn't waterproof!
You have the option whether you want to use the vibrating function or not. There is a silver button at the bottom of the razor that you can press so that it turns it on. The vibrations aren't too over the top, and it won't make you any more likely to cut your legs! It is quite gentle and not unpleasant when you are shaving. It is also meant to give you a closer shave, and exfoliate away dead skin to make your legs look better.
The first time I used the vibrating function.. I wasn't sure about it. It felt very strange to be using a vibrating razor blade against my skin. It didn't really like how it felt holding it in my hand, but obviously that is just personal preference.
To be honest, I didn't really see the difference shaving with the vibration on, than with it off. I think it is a wonderful razor, but I am glad that you can turn the vibration off because in terms of comfort, as I find the same results with both, I prefer to just have a normal shave which I am used to.
I find that the razor (vibration on or off!) gives a great shave. It shaves so close to the skin. I don't usually nick myself at all with these blades. They have three blades on them and a moisturisingstrip at the top of the blade to moisturise you legs as you shave. I also find I can even be quite rough when I shave with them and I don't cut myself. The only niggle I have with the blades is that they are so expensive! To buy a pack of four will cost you around £7 or £8.. almost the same price as the actual razor!
When you purchase the razor, along with the actual razor you also get a razor blade, an AAA battery, and a shower holder/storage case for the razor. This is a plastic shaped box which can fit the razor on the top, it opens up and inside you can store up to four sealed razor blades. You can also but plastic 'suckers' on the back (which are provided) so that you can stick it to the wall of you shower so that you can easily get it when you need to.
I bought mine for about £8, but there always seems to be offers on with the Venus products in Boots and Superdrug, and I saw it in Superdrug for £5.99 a couple of days ago, which I think is good value.
I think the Venus razors are the best razors I have ever used, and this one is no different, I just prefer not to use the vibrating function on it. Also, it is quite easy to forget to switch it on if you are used to the normal razors. I don't think it is that expensive to buy the actual razor, the thing that makes them quite expensive is buying the replacement blades.
