Advantages: Leaves your legs as smooth as silk pajamas! Disadvantages: Squirts out way too fast, the non-sensitive variety itches!

Hey ladies, it’s almost Spring! And as the temperature rises, we’ll be ditching our stuffy trousers and jeans for sexy, breezy shorts and skirts, proudly putting our pins on display. Okay, maybe I’m being a bit optimistic writing this in February, but whether it’s Flesh-Baring Season or not, nothing beats the look (or the feeling) of silky smooth legs.
Well, actually getting silky smooth legs isn’t really as simple as it may sound. Honestly, there are few cosmetic activities more annoying than leg shaving, especially if it leaves your pins dry and irritated, or bleeding and painful from nasty razor cuts. Ask any woman – we’ve all had an experience that made us feel like we were in the shower scene from Psycho!
Well, believe it or not, leg shaving CAN be a pleasure, but only if it’s done the right way. Don’t resort to painful waxing just yet! It’s common sense that you should always use a sharp razor, as a blunt razor increases the risk of nasty nicks and cuts. Plus, you should never use just soap and water alone, as the combination can really irritate and dry out your skin. Finally, if you are in the habit of using your bloke’s substandard shaving cream because you don’t have anything better, stop yourself immediately, and go out right now and buy yourself a bottle of Gilette Satin Care Shave Gel. Why? Because in all my years of leg-shaving, nothing has even come close to the results I’ve gotten from this product!
There are a variety of Gilette Satin Care products to choose from, but I usually buy Gilette Satin Care, Moisture Rich for Sensitive Skin (Anti Nicks & Cuts), available at almost every grocery store or chemist. It comes in a 200-mL chlorine-blue aluminium bottle with the words Satin Care on the front in big white letters. It specifies that it’s for sensitive skin, and that it contains Aloe and Vitamin E. (I tend to have sensitive skin, so that’s why I buy this variety.) It also specifies that it’s “Anti Nicks & Cuts”, which is a plus, because anyone knows that nothing stings more than a razor cut, no matter how tiny. Oddly enough, it also claims that it contains silk, which I suppose is why it leaves your legs feeling so . . . silky. It costs about £3 per bottle, which is a great value for such a fabulous product.
Whenever I feel the need to shave my pegs, I get into a nice, hot shower (ideal conditions for shaving) and pop open the bottle. The thick, clear blue gel is released by simply pressing the convenient slip-proof button on top – but watch out, because it can come out really quickly! If you press too hard, you’ll end up with blue gel all over the wall. I know from experience! The aroma itself is quite mellow, but very, very nice. Once applied to the legs, the clear blue gel magically transforms into a thick, rich, creamy white lather. (This is actually very impressive if you’re seeing it for the first time!) You should only apply a small amount, however, because once the gel turns into cream, a little goes a long way.
Now, time for the fun part – whipping out that trusty razor of yours and SHAVING! Yes, shaving with Gilette is actually fun, believe it or not, because you’ll find that your razor glides so smoothly and effortlessly over your legs, it’s almost impossible to get a nick or cut, unless you try really hard. Instead of stinging sensitive skin like cheaper shave creams would, you’ll find it’s just the opposite – it feels great.
You really would think that something that felt so nice on your legs doesn’t quite do the trick. Wrong! Just run your hand over your leg after you’re done shaving, and I guarantee you’ll have never felt anything smoother or silkier! It’s an amazing sensation. And the silkiness STAYS even when your legs are dry. You’ll find that your legs glide together like they’re made of satin, and are incredibly smooth to the touch, whether it’s you touching them or someone else, wink-wink! ;) Your pins will not only feel sexy, they will look sexy as well – they’ll have a smooth, healthy appearance that other shave gels could never give you… and they will be free of unsightly cuts.
There are no drawbacks, really. I have never found itchiness to be a problem with the Sensitive Skin variety, but I warn you that other varieties of this product can itch a bit if your skin is sensitive like mine. I also believe that the aluminium bottle itself is rust-proof now, which is good because I remember the older versions would get rusty. Face it— waxing is just too painful, and hair removal creams just aren’t fast enough. If you’re looking for perfectly smooth, perfectly lovely legs without any pain or hassle, look no further than Gilette Satin Care.

Review of Gillette for Women Satin Care Moisture Rich Care
Advantages: close shave, moisturises, lasts ages Disadvantages: comes out of canistor too fast
...shaving foam. When i saw Gillette satin care i knew i had to have it. It is in a silver canistor, with a lilac lid. The writing is in white, which a mint coloured haze around the edge of the letters. The information is written in purple and green. It said it had the fragrance of “wild berry”, and was ultra conditioning, which made me want it more. I got home and packed it away in my suitcase, against my mum’s wishes, as she protested ... ...underarms very smooth and soft. Gillette claims it is ultra conditioning, and it certainly was. My legs felt incredibly soft, and i had no need to apply moisturiser like i usually do. The canistor say’s the gel can be used on legs, underarms and bikini areas, and i found that it did not irratate me in any of these areas. I have quite sensitive skin, and can sometimes react badly to sprays and things, and so was plesently suprised that i did ...

...bought my new razor the Gillette ‘Venus’, which is a fab razor. A free shaving gel came with it, and since the first bottle I haven’t been able to shave my legs without it!! I have used a variety of different smelling ones amongst these are ‘Wild berry’ and the one I am reviewing ‘Melon Splash’. I don't think what razor you use will make a difference.

...purchased a 200ml can of Gillette for Women, Satin Care, Wild Berry, Ultra Conditioning, Moisture Rich Shave Gel… phew! Upon reading a few other op’s on this product it seems that mine was quite a bargain, coming in at only £1.65 from Wilko’s.

Although it doesn’t advise either way on the back, I normally give all cans a good shake prior to use. You then squirt the required amount of gel into your hand and proceed to apply onto the area you wish to shave (which should be wet first). Once you have applied all required, any surplus gel left on your hands is easily rinsed off in warm water.

Advantages: Smells Great, Performs Brilliantly Disadvantages: More expensive than most others
Gillette Satin Care is a shaving gel especially for women. It markets itself as a moisture-rich product that is ‘ultra conditioning’. Spotting it on special in my local Tescos, and seduced by the name ‘wild berry’, which conjured up rich taste-bud-tingling smells and fruity frolics in the woods, I threw some into my trolley with abandon.
The Packaging:
It comes in a smooth, satin-finish stainless steel can with a lilac lid ... ...a drawing of some wild berries bursting with juice. Oh yes, and the can holds 195g of the stuff.
The Gel:
The gel comes out easily – rather too easily, in fact, so remember to apply only a little pressure.
It’s dark purple in colour and a little goes a long, long way. A blob the size of a 10 pence piece will cover a whole half-leg with ease. For an under-arm, a tiny speck will do.
The gel is thick in texture and turns into a very ...

Advantages: legs feel smooth, smells nice, do not need to use a lot Disadvantages: expensive
Gillette Satin Care is shaving gel for women. I got a razor set for Christmas, and in the set was this shaving gel.
The gel comes in a silver tin with a lilac lid. The size I have is 75ml, but I think you can get a bigger zize though.
The shaving gel is thick and purple and once rubbed in to your legs turns white. YOu do not need to use a lot either as a bit goes a long way. I didn't realise this at first and used quite a lot of it.
The gel is ... ...be sticking to using my Gillette one instead.
To use the gel just put a bit in your hand and rub on to your legs. I usually just spray it on my leg and then rub it in.
You can use thi9s gel for:-
legs
underarms
bikini area
It does not irrate your skin, which is good especially if you have sensitive skin.
It has ultra conditioning in the gel, which makes your skin feel nice and soft.
Do not spray the gel near sunlight or near a naked flame ...
