It is difficult not to be drawn to the colourful, professional looking packaging on the venus divine razors! Despite a shelf full of other disposbale razors, Gilette's venus brand really stands out. I was first sucked into buying it as a combination of the advertising ('reveal the Goddess in you!') and the fact that I already owned the origial venus razor (which I loved) and was intrigued enough to upgrade!

The venus razor comes in a few colours, but the easiest ones to get your hands on are a deep pink or dark blue, as above. They are made of shiny plastic, with a rubber grip underneath and removable blades. Each blade has 3 moisturising strips which are coated in Aloe Vera and naural botanical oils and the head of the razor is flexible around your body's curves.

The razor itself costs £6.69 from Boots and come with the Venus Divine handle, 2 Venus Divine blades (which come in their own individual packing with easily removable top; much like a yoghurt lid!), and a handy see-through plastic shower case which sticks to the wall via sticky pads on the back and can store up to 4 unused blades inside.
It is worth pointing out that all Venus razor blades fit all of their handles, so it is entireably feasable for you to use the new Venus blades on your old Venus handle. A refill pack of the Venus Divine blades costs around £6.49 for 4 blades, or £12.99 for 8.

I found using the razor extremely easy as the slightly bendy head gave when shaving above and below my knees. It glides smoothly, no matter what level of hair growth you have and doesn't feel like its catching the hairs as some razors do. I have really sensitive skin but have never had stubble rash from using this razor, and it cuts so close to the surface that I have compeltely smooth legs after use. The blades are easily changeable; you press the silver bit near the head and the blade clicks off.. to add a new one simply open the new packet and press the end of the handle into the top of the new blade. This is incredibly easy and certainly not fiddly!
Each blades lasts about 4 or 5 uses for me before I start to notice a slightly less smooth shave. Unlike other razors however, it has to get extremely blunt before it begins to leave me stubble rash (usually after my brother has been using it on his face!). I was slightly dubious that the blades could do that much a better job than the original, and cheaper, Venus blades at £5.99 for 4, but when I went back to using these I quickly stopped as they ileft mild stubble rash on my legs. I do find that hair grows back extremely quickly after use, but this a problem of shaving in general and not the razor itself!

The Venus divine is most certainly the best razor (for women) on the market by far. It is superior in almost every sense, giving the closest shave, being great for sensitive skin, blades lasting for ages and replacing the head easy. However I did find that having to buy a new box of blades every month or so (although it would depend how frequently you shave) became quite expensive considering how cheap regular razors can be, but I would never go back to them.
