Nothing more than a means to an end.
Review of Sainsbury's Gin by edwiseman

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Horrible

Sainsbury's Gin is certainly a nicer tipple than the alterantive cheap booze available in other supermarkets. However, it is still a) gin and b) unpleasant to drink unless heavily masked with something nice-tasting. The drink itself tastes synthetic, which of course it is. It has low status, especially at parties - to be seen drinking out of a Smirnoff bottle may be considered "wacky", but to be seen drinking neat gin is truly hardcore. That is, ... Read review

3000 miles for a bottle of gin...
Review of Martin Millers Gin by hukerjohn

Advantages: Excellent, fruity, long and moreish.
Disadvantages: Not widely available.

--Martin Millers Gin-- The Martin Millers gin distillery is located in the heart of England's Black Country. The spirit is batch distilled (many gins are distilled continuously) in a 100 year old copper still that was made by John Dore and Co. The distillate is then shipped to Iceland on a 3000 mile round trip to be blended with glacial water as it is much purer and softer than most bottled waters we see on our shelves today. This water cuts the ...
...the Westbourne strength). Martin Millers have just the two products that I am aware of. They have the standard 40% gin and the 45.2% Westbourne strength gin. I'm pretty sure (although I could be wrong - and please correct me if I am) that 45.2% is some what of a magic number… I believe it relates back to the days of fighting at sea with cannons and the like because if gin, or rum, was spilt on gunpowder, providing the gin was 45.2% or stronger in ... Amazing Quality Gin
Review of Bombay Sapphire Gin by Friendly_Bartender

Advantages: Everything, From Taste, To Aroma, & A Cool Looking Bottle
Disadvantages: Bars/Pubs overcharge for this gin when it doesn't cost that much more.

I've always liked gin, first drinking Gordon's, but then one day picked up the bottle, mostly because it had a cool looking bottle. Once I opened the bottle and smelled the aroma, I knew it was gold. It is one of the best gin's on the market. New Amsterdam Gin and Tanquery Gin is also a very good brand. The best way I enjoy it is many ways. One is in a rock glass with no ice and 7up or Sprite. Squeeze a lime wedge and drop it into the glass. ...
...website. It has a very good video on how to make a proper dry martini. One last suggestion is gin and 7up tropical splash. I don't even know if they make it anymore but myself and a firend of mine swear by thie mix. Amazingly well matched. Wish they still made it in Canada. Don't be fooled that it it's only a cool looking bottle, it actually is quality stuff. I don't get why people think it's expensive. It's not, at least not in Canada. Only costs ... Read review

Slow and steady...Gordons Sloe GIN...
Review of Gordon by The-ex-Raven

Advantages: Taste's sweet, refreshing, very moreish.
Disadvantages: very moreish...lol

Gin is Gin right ? WRONG !! Recently I was introduced by a friend to Gordon's sloe gin, something I have never come across though brings to mind the Flavoured Absolut vodkas which are also really nice. It's the same kind of thing but Gin. I gave it a try (nope it didn't take much persuasion I like my spirits) and well - it's a really GREAT drink. The bottle is same as your regular screw top Gordon's Gin bottle but clear not green, the gin itself ...
...spirit, not cloudy.. There is a faint pleasant smell of fruitiness along with the normal 'gin' smell, yes I always smell drinks before drinking…..still gin taste but there's also the definite fruity flavour of berries, it's sweet with a nice aftertaste…a bit moreish All this yummy tastiness is down to the sloe berries. We prefer it simple - with a quality lemonade straight from the fridge, it looks a vimto kind of colour, still very deep-purple-red ... Read review
