Advantages: pretty good Disadvantages: the non biological causes fading
..., it's of no use at all for silk and wool... bringing me to
Persil silk and wool (I think that's what it's called, the packaging is ambiguous). This is a powder specifically designed for washing delicates. It's very good, no gradual eating away at your woolies, and a lovely soft feel to garments washed in it. I use it when have jumpers to wash, but often put a lot of other garments in as well, and I love what it does to the towels, they come out all soft and snuggly! Works well at low temperatures for dealing with general grime, but is not superb when it comes to dramatic stains. Thus far I've only been able to find it in small boxes, and my local Sainsburys have not been reliable about stocking it.
Persil non-biological. Well, you aren't recommended to use biological washing powder on clothes that are ging to end up next to delicate baby...

Advantages: Cheaper than a skip, more convenient, easy to use Disadvantages: May have to wait for collection, bags only available in a few places
..., you call the number printed on the side - with your credit or debit card handy - and you will be put down for a collection within 5 working days.
During the call, you have to give your address and specify both where the bags are positioned, and what type of waste they're filled with. They also take a phone number to contact you in case there are any problems while they're trying to
The cost of collection for midi bags is £29 for the first bag, and £25 for any bags after that (collected at the same time). For mega bags, the cost if £39 for the first, £35 for any subsequent.
These charges only apply in "southern counties" - so best to check before you use the bags, I think.
The bags may be collected at any time between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week apparently, so you have to ensure access to wherever they are whether anyone is present...

This flashgun wsa widely sold up to about 5 years ago as the 'solid workhorse' of the Canon Speedlite range. Much cheaper than the top-of-the-range 540EZ, it has an excellent Guide Number (GN) of 43 (100 ISO film, in metres) and has a range of up to 20m more
I was going to buy another cheaper unbranded one but instead I got this one for the same price due to out of stock of the unbranded ones. What a bargain.

I won this in a competition a few years ago. I've been using it quite a lot lately so I thought I'd write a review about it before I pass it on to one of the godchildren.
