Duty free is no longer "Duty Free" strictly speaking, but I love to go and buy some perfume whilst waiting at the airport when going on holiday.
A few years ago I bought a box of Very Irresistible by Givenchy and have had several bottles since! I confess I am addicted!

*Who are Givenchy?*

They produce a line of clothing, accessories, perfumes and cosmetics, and were founded in 1952 by designer Hubert de Givenchy, who retired in 1995. Givenchy is a member of Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture et du Pret-a-Porter. Like Dior, the company is owned by the European luxury goods giant, LVMH. In 1993, Givenchy achieved a total sales worth of $176 million, making it the second largest apparel division of LVMH after Dior. Givenchy's home country is France. In other words they are BIG and profit making!

*What is Very Irresistible like?*

My perfume came in a really bright glossy, cerise pink box, which was cellophane wrapped - all adds to expense but at least you know 20 people haven't tested it before you buy it! Yes! I've seen people trying products out in shops! Testers are always available and should be used, so although I object to lots of wrappings I like my product to be new!
Inside the box, is yet another box of white corrugated cardboard protecting the most gorgeous coloured bottle of perfume. The bottle is triangular in shape and in pink coloured glass and mine stands about 5½inches high. The glass which has a slight twist to it is darker at the base and gets lighter towards the top, where it is finished with a narrow silver band with one of the following words "GIVENCHY", "VERY" and "IRRESISTIBLE" at the top of each side. The spray is also in silver. The top is triangular again and clear plastic, with a tiny ridge which clicks into place. This bottle contains 50ml or 1.7fl.oz. In my box I received a free 15ml bottle which stands 3inches high and is a great handbag size. The top, I find is most annoying as it will only fit on one way and you can bet your life given three positions to choose from I rarely get it right first time!

*What does it smell like?*

A light flowery perfume, with what I can only describe as a dry smell, possibly a little musk like. It doesn't make me cough and choke when I spray it on, it lasts well but is not a "in your face" type of perfume, but which I mean I'm not making everyone feel overcome by it, but others are aware of it as they pass by and comment, "Who is wearing a nice perfume?" It will last several hours, so when put on when you go out at night you don't really need to spray again, although I usually do to revive myself! Strangely enough it is mainly made from Roses, and I hate rose aromatherapy oils, but love fresh roses. The mix is very subtle and combines the awesome smell of roses, infused with star anise, and verbena leaf. The top notes include Centifolia Rose, Peony Rose, Fantasia Rose, Passion Rose, Emotion Rose, Verbena Leaf, and Star Anise. In short a floral aromatic perfume.
Described as an irresistible charm coupled with elegance and femininity, and I agree with that!

*How much does it cost?*

Retailing at about £27/£29, for the 30ml size the best price I have found is at Supadrugstore.com for only £17.75, ordered online they deliver free by 2nd class delivery!

*Where can I buy it?*

As I said I've bought it at the airport, on flights and also at Boots and online shops. It is worth checking out which is the best deal, as prices vary greatly.

*Who does it suit best?*

I'm nearly retired, so not in the first flush of youth, but I saw a much younger lady buying it and her friend also in early 20's commented on how nice and fresh it was especially for work situations were you don't want strong heavy perfumes. So it will suit most ages. Although in my searching for best prices I have seen it recommended for the mature person.

*Final thoughts!*

Perfume is a very difficult item to review as it smells different on different people. I have tried to explain what it is like but nothing can replace trying it for yourself and seeing if you like it. If you want to be Very Irresistible too, and feel feminine and elegant then go and have a test spray at your nearest perfume shop! Just warn the men in your life, as you may attract more than you bargained for!
