I recently wrote an opinion on Airwickcrystal air, air fresheners which I have to say I think are very good. However, I have now discovered another air freshener, which is also quite good, and I thought I’d tell you all about it.
I was in ‘home bargains’, when I spotted a Glade Duet air freshener with a free full sized bottle of pledge orange polish for only £1.35 - for that price I just couldn’t resist!
The appearance of the product isn’t as nice as the Airwick Crystal (which is a glass shape filled with coloured gel) this one is made of plastic and has wavy lines cut out of the side for the gel fragrance to escape and a little button on the top to spray with. The plastic is refillable, however which makes it a little kinder on the environment, and cheaper to use.
You are supplied with a small canister of spray, which has the gel frangrance on either side of it. You simply peel the clear film off the gel and put the cannister into the plastic holder.
Then your Glade Duet air freshener is ready to use. The idea is, that the gel provides continuous feshness, but the spray provides ‘a burst of freshness’ if you need it. I bought the waterfall fresh fragrance which is very nice, and smells like flowers. I have had the air freshener for about 2 weeks and although the smell from the gel was strong at first it does seem to be wearing off a bit now. Saying that though, it has been in my kitchen, and has been doing a good job of covering all the food smells.
The spray is good, and unlike aerosol fresheners when you press the button there is a controlled amount of spray - so if you held your finger on the button it wouldn’t spray continually.
The box states that the gel should last 30 days and the spray will last 30 days if you spray it 3 times a day.
The air freshener can be harmful to aquatic animals.
I will definatley be buying a refill when this one runs out.

It's an interesting idea having air freshner in two forms in one container. Gem x

I love this air-freshener in the "Waterfall" fragrance, it reminds me of the smell of Bubblegum!!! I too have found that the gels scent runs out and you're left with the spray. Now, I only peel off half the silver coating on the gel and remove the other half a few weeks later, it helps it last longer. You've sure got a bargain, the cheapest I have managed to find these fresheners is £1.99. Great op! Ciao for now - J
