    THE WATER OF LIFE The name whisky comes from the Gaelic ‘uisge’, an abbreviation of ‘uisge beatha’ meaning the water of life. Single malt is a fermentation of water, malted barley and yeast. No other ingredients are allowed by law, it must also be matured for at least 3 years. The more common and in my opinion inferior whisky (blends like Bell’s, Famous Grouse etc) may contain a mix of malts and grain (maize or wheat) whiskies. SO YOU’RE ALL DIFFERENT THEN?
