A Good Read Review ofMy 1998 World Cup Story - Glenn Hoddleby

Advantages: In depth look at football management Disadvantages: A little out of date.
...Although this book is 2 years old it is still worth tracking it down and reading it. It is an auto biography by Glenn Hoddle with David Davies. The books is about Glenns preparations and adventure into the 1998 World cup, it shows the real feelings of Glenn at various moments during his 2 month adventure with England, telling Gazza he wouldn't be going, helping David Batty after his penalty miss and dealing with the back stabbing british press.
Although I do not noramlly read many books once I read the first page I couldn't stop. It shows Glenns real thoughts and emotions and gives a dramatic account of his views which for various reasons couldn't be shown at the time, it has photos showing various points in the tournament. By reading the book you really will learn about international management and see that it is not as easy as you...

Between Males Review ofBetween Males - Fiona Walkerby
zwiggy
Advantages: Disadvantages:
...This book is the most recent novel by Fiona Walker and, personally, I thought this story was nowhere near as good as her previous books. The central character is Odette, who first appeared in Walker’s previous novel, ‘Snap Happy’, as a friend of that story’s heroine, Juno Glenn. In ‘Between Males’, Odette is starting up her own club. The book follows Odette’s relationships – in particular, her relationships with Calum Forrester and Jimmy Sylvian whose friendship could be affected by her. The characters in this book were not that good. This book is alright and there are a lot of appearances from characters from Walker’s previous novels. Despite a few funny scenes, this book was not that good especially in comparison to Walker’s previous novels....

...Personally, ‘Snap Happy’ is my all-time favourite book by Fiona Walker. The heroine, Juno Glenn, is a mixed –up, slightly paranoid, nutty character whose life is a mess. When Juno’s brother goes to New York, he does a flat-swap with Jay Mulligan, a very talented photographer. This leads to Juno and Jay sharing the flat. In contrast to Juno, Jay is tidy, organised and very successful. He is also very secretive about why he’s in London and this leads to Juno making all kinds of crazy assumptions. This book is really funny – you’ll be laughing out loud, it’s just fantastic!...
