Advantages: Catches most of the excess dye in the wash; keeps clothes "brighter" and "whiter" Disadvantages: Smell when first open pack might make asthmatic person wheeze; have to remember to use

I'm pretty good at sorting my washing ~ l keep the white shirts in one pile; the jeans and towels in another; black socks in yet another ~ making sure l wash all the underwear after bath time (usually with the white shirts) ~ because there is nothing worse than streaky clothes ~ unless, of course you tie-dye deliberately!
What I'm NOT quite as good at is at making sure l ... ...fresh dirty items into the machine to wash.
I'm not talking about the previous load.
No. I ALWAYS turn the drum and check for items still clinging to the drum when the load finishes.
It's this. I'm talking about the odd socks, pale blue or white work shirts (My husband is a teacher) which my husband puts in the machine without me noticing ~ sometimes with funny items in the pockets. Once or twice he has even tossed his red "Steward" sweatshirt ...

Advantages: Saves clothes from being dyed a different colour Disadvantages: None
Colour Catcher is a product that really does save your clothes.
How many times have you accidentally put a coloured item of clothing into a white wash load?
Well I have on a number of times, and ended up with all my whites turning pink or grey.
These days you tend to get a lot of tops that look like you are wearing two tops at the same time, they have a dark colour on top and a lighter colour underneath, so you have to wash it on a very cool wash ... ...to the lighter part.
Colour Catcher is an ingenious product that puts an end to colours running.
~What is it~
It is just a plain white treated sheet that acts like a magnet, and draws the colour out of the water into the sheet so it does not penetrate the other clothing and keeps it locked in to the sheet, keeping your whites' white, and your colours colourful. It is about 10in by 5in that you just pop into your washing machine.
~How to use~

Advantages: Can use several times, thus even more value for money Disadvantages: None found!
Colour Catchers help to prevent your whites from the trauma that is...THE STRAY RED SOCK! But this is not just a product for such drastic emergencies! It turns out that your coloured clothes release traces of dye everytime you wash them - who knew? Well, as it turns out my Mum did! When my Mum recommended these to me, I thought she was being a bit obsessive but after using them just once I could actually see the difference (the sheet changes from ... ...colours in your machine)!
The packet tells you to discard them after each wash, but both my Mum and I use them several times (just hang them out to dry with the load and fling them in next time). Sometimes, if I think one is near the end of it's life, I'll use two older ones together. I realise this makes me sound rather tight, but why not - it saves me money and it would be a waste to throw it away when it clearly works for a few washes.

Quick review of Glo Care Colour Catcher Review ofGlo Care Colour Catcherby

I used 2 colour catchers in the same load this morning as I was washing jeans with something white and I have to say I was impressed that the white garment didnt come out completely blue but very disappointed that it came out with blue patches on it. I realize now that I was silly to experiment with the white jacket that I was so fond of. Maybe it was my own fault, I should have put an old top in with the jeans before trying anything else. Has anyone else had this problem? I would be interested to find out.
