I have a lot of games and puzzles in my house and I use them to keep my brain active but I also buy them for my granddaughter. One of my favourites is GoKi Shut the Box. I like this game because it is educational and it is also great fun and I enjoy playing it by myself and also playing it with my granddaughter and friends from the Church. I also have the travel sized version of this lovely game but I prefer the standard sized one because it is easier for me to see and handle the pieces.

My box is 13.5cm x 9cm x 2.5cm and it is a nice posher one and it cost me £12.99 but I think I paid extra for the nicer looking felt inlay bit inside. It is made of wood and it is very god quality and I have had it for years and I get it out quite a bit but it still looks lovely and new, I find. This has impressed me.

This is a lovely numbers game and I think it has helped both me and my granddaughter with addition and subtraction and it is simple and nice and easy to play. It used to be played traditionally in pubs I think in olden times and it is a ort of little gambling game, but very harmless, I find. I find it is very addictive once I get going. My box also has a lovely little wooden lid to close it once I have finished playing with it. Pud will often sit and watch me playing it for hours at a time when I am not busy at my allotment or DIY. I think this is a game which would be good for ages five years and upward and it helps to speed up my mental arithmetic.

It is easy to play when each person ahs to put an agreed amount into the pool and the winner collects what is in there at the end of the game. The aim of the game is to close all of the boxes, then you have won the game, this is do by throwing the dice and then checking the numbers you have thrown. We have little bets for M&M sweeties and it is great fun on rainy days during the school holidays when my granddaughter stays with me sometimes during the daytime.

I do enjoy playing this lovely game and I recommend it to you.
