Advantages Picture/video quality, ease of use, loads of mounting options
Disadvantages Pricing of extras (mounts)
Firstly, the GoPro HD 2 has been massively improved from the original camera. The first thing noticeable is the pure quality of the images/video. Compared to the original they're much sharper and clearer. The next big difference is how it handles low light. The original was pretty poor at doing this but the HD Hero 2 handles low light really well (do a quick youtube search).
Another thing i'm really impressed with is how simple the camera is to work. GoPro have completely revamped the menus on the camera, so much so that you won't even need to read the instructions to set it up. Another feature that helps with ease of use is the extra red flashing lights that have been added on all sides. This means each video doesn't have to start with your face looking blankly in to the camera to see if it's recording!
Lastly, there are an unlimited number ways in which to mount this camera and all the mounts from the original HD Hero are compatible with the HD Hero 2. There are a lot of cool add ons coming to the Hero 2 in the future, including a wifi back pack that allows you to remotely operate the camera over wifi. The only negative point i can think of is the price of the extras you buy.
