I did not think I would like this book, the write up inside the jacket had not sounded that interesting. I was pleasantly surprised.

This book I suppose is about endings and beginnings and even goes on to suggest that endings could sometimes be looked upon as blessings. By the end of the book I was glad that Phillip, Joanna's husband had left her, it gave her a chance with Marcus. I love that Marcus finally gets a second chance with Joanna.
As for Dora well her story was much less interesting for me, I don't quite understand why she hesitates with Tom. Katie Fforde does not explain why she leaves her fiancé John, so it is all a mystery. Maybe she does explain and I missed it. One supposes she wants space, adventure and freedom, which does not explain Tom.
The book is perfectly written as Katie Fforde always does, It rather funny in parts and very romantic in a realistic way.
It made me want to experience life on a barge. It makes life on the Tames sound so glamorous and fun.
As for Dora's experience job searching in London, I can identify with the attitude she was given by the woman at the agency. I laughed so much at that bit because I have been there and I was glad someone was actually talking about it even though it is in a fiction romance novel.
This is a good read I would recommend it to anyone.
You can pick this up from any book store on or off life. Hard back will cost you from £18.99 new to £2 used.
