Advantages: Good value for money, excellent deals, very helpful staff. Disadvantages: Have to buy own food. Might have go tit cheaper if booked at last minute.
I have waited to post this opinion until I had actually booked the holiday, which I did this morning. I wasn’t going to post it first and let you lot beat me to the Travel Agents! Ha! There aint no flies on carolinesite ;-)
Firstly, after writing my opinion about a cruise I had in 1995, I felt I wanted another holiday like that. I picked up a few brochures from the GoingPlaces shop, and sat down with a cup of coffee. I was horrified at how much the prices had gone up in 6 years. They were asking about £1,000 per person for a weeks cruise and a week on land, compared to £650 in 1995. I know prices go up, but a 40% increase in 6 years is disgusting. I gave that idea up.
Next, I looked through the Airtours Summer 2001 brochure. I was mainly looking for All Inclusive holidays, as they are good value for money. I wanted ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Inaccurate brochure descriptions and apalling customer service
holiday we exchanged several letters and phone calls with GoingPlaces regarding suitable offers of compensation. For a holiday that cost £450 each we were offered £50 in total. The process of complaining became so tiresome that we did not end up even accepting that.
Overall I was shocked and disappointed with the appalling customer service of such a well known and established company. I have refused to book through them since. ...

Advantages: Friendly Staff - Is nothing to much for them? Disadvantages: Could do with more staff working there
plan which we found bareable to pay (I don't like paying for things - so bareable is v. good!)
The staff were so friendly and each one was ready to give an opinion on our destination and those that we didn't pick. A case of "My mother went there and said it was best for young ones" or "That was a great place - one of the nicest beaches I've been on" etc
Great advice about weather and currency was given, and I felt that they really cared that you had a good holiday. Whilst there on that day, they had an influx of people coming in to thank them for a great holiday, giving their views on the accomodation, area etc... and they were genuinely interested to hear it all.
Every time I went in to pay, they wold remember me and where I was to go and would ask me if I was exited and let me know the opinions of people that had just come ...

It's 1950 and when Laura and Billy Hopkins return to Manchester from their honeymoon they're in seventh heaven despite the austerity that has been going on since World War II. But the euphoria gradually evaporates and they settle into a penny-pinching existence on Billy's teaching salary as babies and bills appear with alarming regularity. When Billy spots an advertisement for Education Officers in Kenya it sounds like the answer to all their prayers despite worries about the Mau Mau rebellion and the omnipresence of dangerous creatures. After much family debate Laura Billy and the junior Hopkins set off to Nairobi on a BOAC Argonaut and start on the biggest adventure of their lives.
