...After my husband went on a trip to Japan he returned saying that we must get a rice cooker, apparently everyone over there has one. I was a bit dubious but we bought one. We bought the GoldairPRS50230. Not only does it cook rice but it can be used to steam food such as vegetables, meat and fish on a little steamer basket that comes with it.
We bought this model because of the price, it was one of the cheapest on the market at the time at about £25.00.
It was a good buy. It is so easy to cook rice in it, no more getting the rice overcooked, undercooked or just horrible. The important thing is to wash the rice well first in cold water till the water comes clear. You then add the measured amount of rice (using the measure supplied) and measured amount of cold water to the steamer, put the lid on and turn it on. No fuss...
