choices in marketing history, since it beggars all sorts of unkind comparisons to Rare's seminal N64 title, which to this day remains one of the best games ever made. The choice of name is all the more puzzling because the game has nothing to do with the film or, save the first person perspective, Rare's magnum opus. In fact the rather unlikely reasoning behind everything is that you are an evil ex-MI6 agent who after a fight with Dr No is given an, err golden eye by Auric Goldfinger. The game's premise is such that all of Bond's greatest bad guys are still alive and caught up in a sort of underworld civil war, in which your character seeks to be the real beneficiary. Ignoring such nonsense though, and looking purely at the game, the AI seems quite good and the replacement of Everything or Nothing's "Bond Moments" with scripted "Death Trap" sequences is fairly amusing. Unfortunately though the developers seem to have forgotten that the original game was as much lauded (at least a year beforeThieforMetal Gear Solid) for its stealth gameplay as much for its shooting and this element seems total absent fromRogue Agent. The multiplayer is also unconvincing with no radar and rather sprawling level design. It might turn out all right when it's finished but at the end of the day this is noGoldenEye. --David Jenkins

Advantages: Some Nice new Features Disadvantages: Seen this before - confusing stories

Since then many bond games have been released - Nightfire - Everything or nothing. However - thats the past. This is the newest Bond game on the block and what you want to know is how does it fair against the old and new games on this genre. Well to sum it up - it does nicely. It gives a real bond ish atmosphere even from the word go - you some neat weapons - you can hold 2 different weapons in your different hands at any one time and change these if a dead opponent has a more fancy one. Inless that is you pick up one of the more beefy guns which require 2 hands! So on the guns side of things - this is a nice addition - 2 machine guns - one pistol one shotgun - ones reloading other you can continue firing - its cool.
The Graphics are also neat. They look nice but nothing special. Since the game was designed for the ps2, - the other consoles Gamecube and XBOX are all being bottlenecked by a game running for a machine of the ps2 spec - its not tinted for gamecube and thus is nothing pushing it. The FPS runs smoothly at most points - jumps occasionaly but nothing that lets it down (as i remember the gamecube version of spyhunter did!).
The enemies do have some nice (if you can call them nice) dying sequences, fumbling running into the bars stumbling about after me feeding them 15 deadly shots each - amusing to say the least. You can also tap Z if your in close proximaty to an enemy to melee them with the butt of your gun - deadly at close range but if you miss ur hit hard. That is one thing different about this game, get close to an enemy and miss them, or even just take too long taking them down and you will pay!
The A.I of this game is not terribly impressive. It feels very setup. If you spend too long playing with the enemies they do seems to just stil stand there and shoot at you - i know thats what they are meant to do but would you honestly just stand there and constantly shoot into an enemies head - no you would lob a nade at them or go and smack them! They do on the other hand have a very good aim at times and do look very nice so there we go - its nothing great but nothing horrificly awful.
The Music is very bondy - some techno jargon that you do tend to ignore. The dying sounds of enemies are impressive - the shreaks of pain are actually nicely done. The gun sound effects are decent, and explosions and the like just standard. There is a nice touch of a theme song after the first level like the bond movies, you get the first action bit then the theme song - i liked this little touch a lot.
The Story - this lets the game down a lot. It felt to me as if i was bond on the first level, but i didnt know who i was! Then suddenly i saw oddjob with his hat killing folk - and realised it looked like the ending to one of the older bond films - but then zap i was shunted onto some FMV with DR NO showing around 50 commanches where to go nd them tearing apart some town - and boom was action again! WHO AM I PLAYING AS! I didnt know who i was and this anoyed me intensly - in fact it let the game down - to some it wont matter but to me it let it down!
All in all this is a good game - and beats all the rest of the recent bond titles on new consoles - but still doesnt beat the old Goldeneye!
Advantages: Cool concept Disadvantages: No online play mode, laggy control, shameful , multiplayer
. Intro
Well James Bond is back again or... may be not you are a former MI6 agent. You play GoldenEye who works for Auric Goldfinger, who is at war with the infamous Dr. No. GoldenEye also has a chip on hid shoulder in this in this little war, as it was No who stole his original eye. Enhanced with a cybernetic golden eye implant from Goldfinger, GoldenEye sets out reek some havoc on some poor unsuspecting souls.
Single player mode.
Well this is ... ...player mode will put you into deep sleep faster than counting sheep jumping over a fence. You will be consisting shooting hundreds of uninteresting thugs and supposedly they have this new "Evil AI" which is supposed to make them incredibly smart and hard to defeat, ha what a joke they are as smart as the AI from South Park the game with all those crazy turkeys. You will often find them running at you like headless chickens and going all trigger-happy ...

Advantages: nice new weapons Disadvantages: no gadgets and not much plot
I was really looking forward to playing this game as it was the reason that i bought a Gamecube as it was supposedly made just for this console.
Having played Goldeneye on N64 I expected a lot of this but feel slightly cheated that EA have played on the name Goldeneye to create interest in the game and then at the last minute reveal that this isnt a sequel and you dont play Bond in the game - it is simply called Goldeneye because the character has ... ...people who actually like the other Bond games and always give them a few plays when they come out - the last 2 were quite varied in their approach. Nightfire had a good range of gadgets, cut scenes that you could zip past, driving sections, stealth, puzzles etc. Everything or Nothing had the gimmick of being a 3rd person shooter and again had the same variation of Nightfire.
This game however is very much shoot & kill - i have been playing straight ...

Advantages: you have have two guns at once, never seen on a 007 game before Disadvantages: Multiplayer is a bit of a let down, it also needs a few more levels
This game is a break through for the James Bond 007 creators. This game is fantasitc. First of all it has a brilant story line. (You were a Mi6 agent working with 007, you were on a mission, but you were shot down and everyone died but you. You were captured and you were turned evil (to put it in basic terms). You were inplanted with a chip which allows you to do different thing with your eye (hence the name Golden EYE). the things you can do are, ... ...computer stations and see through walls (which comes in very handy). I recormend this game to anyone who likes adventure/action packed games. In the game you can use different types of weapons, from a shawn off shot gun, to a massive rocket laucher which blows everything and anything to high heaven, to a sleek looking sniper rifle which shoots a fair distance.
The only thing that lets this game down is that it needs more levels and that the multiplayer ...

Advantages: Neverbefor seen features from an FPS Disadvantages: Repetative gameplay
GoldenEye Rogue Agent is a first person shooter. Rogue Agent seemed to me as a basic shooting game when I first got it but as you play through it you get a feel for it and can have some fun. This game features many characters from other 007 movies such as Dr.No and Auric Goldfinger. In the game you have the option to use two guns at once and you have a goldeneye that has up to four different powers that you earn as you progress through the game. ... ...shields. There are also different bonuses that you cen get such as melee kills and death traps. Even so the game does get repetative but also gets harder. The multiplayer is terrible, you can get up to 4 players but only for one type of gamemode. There is no AI opponents in the multiplayer. I would say that if you can get a good deal on it pick it up, otherwise forget it. ...
