    Advantages Advantages Exclusive to Wii!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Purists may not be too happy with the tinkering!

A few weeks ago I borrowed a Wii for a weekend from a friend of mine, the reason for this is that I wanted to play just a single game on it – Goldeneye 007. I have a 50” TV that is wall mounted in my living room so playing a Wii game was an ideal setup. The original Goldeneye game was released on the Nintendo 64 back in 1997 to coincide with the release of Pierce Brosnan’s first film as James Bond as was a revolution in gaming and is still well remembered by gamers to this day as it is held in high esteem. So with a vacuum in the world of Bond at the moment, Goldeneye has been updated for a ... more

Advantages Advantages Great graphics, playability and multiplayer

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not Brosnan, playing time could be longer.

Being a Bond fan I would naturally expect something good - or great - from this shooter. Its predecessor, Quantum of Solace, is not really something for Goldeneye Wii to live up to due to Quantum of Solace's poor graphics and playability on Wii. When I first started playing I was really thinking that this is a great game and lives up to the Bond. The graphics are great for the Wii, not quite PS3 or Xbox standards, but it is a Wii. It really pushes the boundaries of what a Wii can do and I respect that. It has a fairly decent number of levels with difficulty settings on each one which does ... more

    Advantages Advantages Very good gameplay

Disadvantages Disadvantages Multiplayer could be improved

I was really looking forward to this game on the wii as I am a huge fan of all the Bond films and this one is one of my particular favourites. This game is one loosely based on the film, the only changes being to some parts to maybe improve it or make extra missions available to play. Bond himself is played NOT played by Pierce Brosnan (the actor who played him in the actual film) but by Daniel Craig (the latest Bond actor). The game itself is very good, the graphics are some of the best I have seen on wii and the missions are relatively simple (so I am choosing some more difficult playing ... more

Advantages Advantages Challenging, good graphics, reasonable activity, visually pleasing levels, vehicles

Disadvantages Disadvantages Short, A little tedious in parts, lack of weapons, not much exploring,

As a big fan of the game on N64, I couldn't wait when the Wii versoin came out. I was initially very impressed. I thought the graphics were very good, the controls were odd, but I quickly adjusted, and I had fun moving about completing small missions. There are a variety of different difficulty selection, and I was quite happy with the amount the game challenged me, and that was on the second to easiest difficulty. The enemy's do feel less like robots, at some points I was panicking which is always good, and there were a lot of parts that made me nervous. Bond is now equipped with a smart ... more

Goldeneye is a fantastic game - i can't recommend it enough. I suggest you buy yourself a gun for your Wii though if you haven't already got one as you're going to need it for the full Bond experience. The game features Daniel Craig as Bond (I know he wasn't in Goldeneye but who cares?!) and Judy Dench plays the role of M. It also features all your favourite bond villians such as Jaws and Oddjob so you won't be dissapointed. The graphics are excellent for a Wii game and the controls are intuitive and easy to use - I use the Wii-gun but you could alternatively use a Wii-mote and Nunchuk. This ... more
