Goldeneye 007 I thought a little disappointing, but fun 1 of 2 Ciao Users found the following review helpful
Rating from bw89 4 Stars ()

Advantages Challenging, good graphics, reasonable activity, visually pleasing levels, vehicles

Disadvantages Short, A little tedious in parts, lack of weapons, not much exploring,

As a big fan of the game on N64, I couldn't wait when the Wii versoin came out. I was initially very impressed. I thought the graphics were very good, the controls were odd, but I quickly adjusted, and I had fun moving about completing small missions. There are a variety of different difficulty selection, and I was quite happy with the amount the game challenged me, and that was on the second to easiest difficulty. The enemy's do feel less like robots, at some points I was panicking which is always good, and there were a lot of parts that made me nervous. Bond is now equipped with a smart phone, and works with 006 once again. There are cool slow-motion shootouts, fast-paced driving scenes and sneaky action sequences. I love some of the levels, although I found them a little short.

Despite my anticipation for the game, I am a little disapointed with a lot of it. I couldn't help feeling unhappy with the weapon selection, you can only carry a few at a time, and I didn't feel there was much variety. The whole way through the game I was thinking how do I use grenades, as I was being pummelled by them myself. It turns out you can only use them in multiplayer mode, which again I found dull and boring, although I have only played with one other person, and imagine four friends would have a blast. As previously mentioned I wish the levels were bigger, and involved more exploring and other, unimportant missions. The story wa sa little too short for my liking, especially when there were loads on the N64 version, and I completed it in one sitting, although again, this was on a low diffuculty.

All this being said, I am not too disappointed as to never play the game again, and while the N64 will stay in reach, I will still play the Wii version again. I imagine more hardcore Bond fans than me will enjoy the game much more.
