    Advantages Advantages everything, well built, good looking, fast, handles corners well, grips the road

    Disadvantages Disadvantages fuel consumption is poor, road tax is a nightmare

    In the early months of last year I decided it was time to sell my old Renault Clio and actually buy something good. I actually ended up spending 1,000 more than I got selling my car and the new one was 3 years older. That’s because it was a Golf. Vw’s hold their value really well, which is a pain when you’re buying but good when you want to sell. Anyway, I’d always wanted a Golf and so I was rather pleased. In fact I fell in love. Despite being a TDi (that’s a diesel to the layman) it drove wonderfully and made everything a pleasure. I then made the mistake of joining an owners club. Which ... more
