Advantages: Good for homemaker types Disadvantages: none
I used to read Good Housekeeping magazine 15 years ago. I used to look forward to it coming out every month, and there was usually something of interest and value to me in it. I valued the fact that many aspects of it were relevant to my life - being down to earth and often practical - recipes, live issues, etc. It had reviews of the sorts of things I might want to buy, and the sort of recipes I might want to cook.
Then for various reasons I hardly ... ...I recently took out a subscription to it (tempted by their offer of a set of three baking trays because my supply had run low). And what is my impression now? Well, my view is the same as before. But I get the distinct impression that the magazine has kept its readership during the 15 years that I have been away. I think it has changed to include older women. It now has features older women - right up to their 70s. I don't think it used to do this. ...

Advantages: Easy to read, lovely and cheap, could be worse Disadvantages: Not all that stimulating interllectually
Over the summer I was never short of something to read thanks to the generous parents who left all their magazine and books behind when they went home. Unfortunately, the majority of these parents, being older, more worldly and, well, parents, had different tastes in magazines from us young uns. No problem, I figured, a magazine’s a magazine, right? I mean it’s in English, it’s up to date and it’s readable. And so, had you been in my resort over the summer, you would more likely than not have seen me reading GoodHousekeeping, Ok, Hello and Woman’s Weekly, rather than my normal 19, More, Heat and so on. Woman, though, is the magazine that surprised me. Far from living up to the comfy, mumsy image it portrays, it was actually interesting, insightful and a jolly good read at times. I read issue after issue ...

Hello fellow Cioaers, I?m here today to introduce you to a magazine that you may well have never heard of. Surprisingly so, because it is one of the nation?s most popular Woman?s magazine that men can also read as well.
In a recent survey, Candis has more readership than such magazines as Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Prima and GoodHousekeeping.
So exactly what is this little handbag size magazine that is such a secret?
Well, for one thing you will not find it in any newsagents or garage shelf. This is a ?Club? magazine that was once sold door to door, but mostly people subscribe to it on a yearly or monthly basis, paying direct from their bank account.
Your one-off fee of £3 for membership is all you have to pay, there are no hidden costs and you can cancel at any time, with a little warning space ...

Advantages: Fantastic humour from the hood...(priesthood that is???) Disadvantages: The sad death of Dermot Morgan
, and Frank Kelly, who plays the constantly drunken Father Jack, and the ever so faithful Pauline McLyn as housekeeper Mrs Doyle, the show was always destined to be a great hit with the audience.
Every episode is as good as the previous, they are all side splittingly funny due to the complete incompetence of the three men and the antics that they seem to have to deal with.
Through the entire 25 episodes there is not one episode that will not make even the hardest of people laugh out load.
The idea of combining these actors was pure genius, (or pure luck) and was bound to create a lot of hilarious scenes, let alone 3 series worth?.
There are one or two incidents with-in the series which some people may find offensive, or even blasphemous, but the comedy which screams from the screens certainly makes the offended feel better.
The show ...
