Advantages Advantages Even better than the Margherita version

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

For me, something that is not always done right with a pizza is the meat content. More than a couple of times, a vegetarian pizza has impressed me whilst a different topping, this time including meat, has failed me horribly. Today I will test this with the Goodfella’s Stonebaked Ciabatta Style Pepperoni pizza. What a mouthful. Well, I am hoping for one and as soon as the oven reaches 190 degrees C, cooking can commence. Goodfella’s are responsible for the humorous pizza adverts on UK television. Many of you will have seen the “eat and ride” and “celebrity ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap and tasty

Disadvantages Disadvantages Needs an asbestos gob!!

I was intrigued, I’m not often intrigued but I was certainly intrigued, could I rise to the bait and accept a challenge; throwing the gauntlet down like this my chromosomes, well chromosomed: I had to be involved in Mr Zeeman’s challenge. The challenge was to write a food op containing the words bucket, wallpaper, nuclear explosion, mushroom cloud, elevation, bathing a dog, stainless steel, league-table, dirty and history so then; LIGHTS, QUILL, ACTION!!! Firstly let it be said that I will endeavour to use her words in the order that she gave, just to make it a tad more taxing. Secondly, this ... more

Advantages Advantages Different base and quality toppings

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit small and not enough mozerella

I'm a bit of a pizza monster (well, I am a student) and was won over by the adverts for these new Goodfellas Ciabata pizzas and their bold claim that they are of pizzeria quality. At £2.50 or so, it's certainly cheaper and so I gave it a go. To my surprise, it was actually very good indeed. I've tried previous Goodfellas pizzas and thought they were terrible to be honest, but this is definitely of better quality. The toppings are relatively generous but there is a definite lack of mozerella cheese on them. However, the pepperoni is delicious and doesn't go to crispy in the oven. The real ... more

    Advantages Advantages ciabatta base

Disadvantages Disadvantages not always enough pepperoni

Being a pizza fanatic i simply had to try this one out when i saw it advertised. The ciabatta base appealed to me and gave the pizza the edge over the more traditional bases. I am also a sucker for pepperoni toppings. The packaging of the pizza was not too much different from your normal goodfellas range. There were clear cooking instructions printed on the base of the box also. The pizza looked standard before it went into the oven. After 25 mins, the pizza that came out of my oven looked delicious. There was just enough meat, cheese and tomato and when the pizza is cooked you can really see ... more

    Advantages Advantages High quality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages too many onions

My mum brought this one home for me, much to my disgust. I usually go for cheese or chicken topped pizzas. But anyway, I slapped it in the oven tonight and 18 minutes later I had a feast on my hands. This pizza has a ciabatta base. When I saw it I thought that meant it would be really hard. In reality, it wasn't at all. IT had a really crispy crust, with soft bread inside, which is spot on from where I'm sitting. The crust is pretty big and bubbly, unlike those shocking 99p Sainsbury beasts. I ate all the crust. Good sign. The toppings were undoubtedly high quality. Minging pepperoni can ... more
