Car Radio - Panel Release, Panel/Quick Release - with CD Player, With CD-Player - without CD-Changer, With changer control - with MP3 Playback, With MP3 Player - 208 Watt
Advantages: Cheapish Disadvantages: Cheesy and very unreliable
I bought a Goodmans CD player previous to this which packed up after a week (held my CD and would not eject it) so I took it back and exchanged for this model which had mp3 facility. It worked OK for a few weeks although it played only SOME mp3 tracks and skipped others. Then it refused to play any discs at all, instead showing "ERROR 1" which the manual said was serious. I should have had more sense than to buy Goodmans because I bought one of their home hi-fi units which also stopped playing CDs after a short time. My advice - pay a bit extra for something reliable with a less cheesy reputation. You can get good deals on much superior merchandise. Steer clear of Goodmans tinpot junk. ...
Advantages: Good sound, many settings Disadvantages: Simply that the carry case isn't very good!
I have had this stereo for over 18 months and it suits me just fine.
It plays CDs & MP3 cds. The FM radio has 18 memory slots, MW has 6 and there are another 6 for LW. The radio is quite good and I have never had a problem picking up a station; the opposite in fact. Sometimes it will try and play 2 stations at once if their frequency is similar.
You can change the bass etc and there are also presets for the sound that you can select easily whilst driving. So if you need to turn your bass down because you are worried about your speakers it can be done quite easily without pulling over!
The volume goes up pretty high. Even the brightness of the display can be altered; there are 3 settings.
The only thing that it doesn't do is read the additional info on CDs. Our other radio will read the artist's name and the track ...
Advantages: ummmmm Disadvantages: Doesn't work very well, slow, intermitently recognises disks, poor back up service, need I go on?
I ordered my Freecom DVD Recorder LS USB2.0 after my CD/DVD drive packed up on my 15 month old HP Desktop. I wanted it mainly to load CD ROM and burn DVD's from movies already converted to DVD format on my hard drive. Being that my PC had no disk drive I relied upon this external drive to load the bundled DVD burning software (Roxio 9). This took several days and many attempts. Then I tried burning my first DVD. After taking 3 hours to do a task that previously took about 30 minutes, this recorder produced a disc that no dvd player in my home recognised (and I have 4). I found the user interface very unfriendly and it simply didn't work. Needles to say, I'll be getting a refund! ...
