Advantages: Cheapest HDMI that I could find on the market.
Disadvantages: It shows!

...I bought this bargain-basement HDMI DVD player from Currys Digital on Oxford Street, to play through my newly purchase 40" Sony Bravia LCD TV. The cost was a mere £40, only a few pounds more than a regular DVD player. Currys also sold me an overpriced HD cable...£25, whereas such cables are generally available for around £15. Set up was easy - I didn't even need to refer to the instruction manual. Inital impression was very positive. The picture quality was very good indeed, significantly better playback than through a regular DVD player, my only concern being that at the start of playback (when the disc is turning more quickly) the motor is quite noisy, disturbingly so in a quiet room.
