recharge it with the charger that comes with it in 5 hours and also comes with a car adapter so you can watch or recharge in the car. Great for camping! Highly recommended and without doubt in my opinion the best for the money by a long chalk. Others you may want to look at are the pioneer and the LG 7" which was very tempting. This player comes as region 2 only but a very simple button pressing sequence opens it up into a region free player. Terrific.
Now the important bit, DONT BE PUT OFF IT BEING A GOODMANS! I was sceptical as Goodmans stuff is um...er usually crap, but this is high class kit, spoil yourself. One more thing..........The mp3 player software is top notch great sounding mp'3 through any amplifier you choose, I use a pioneer pc 5.1 system (£70) and it sounds awesome.
Ok Update time - It is very trippy on vcd playback sometimes ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Difficult to use, unreliable, no spares available
The first 2 that i bought were faulty.
Takes a very long time to start up so if you are in a hurry to record anything forget about it as you need about 10 minutes for the machine to sort itself out.
The instruction book is very poorly written and is of no help whatsoever as it is translated from another language.
The menus are confusing and frustrating and it took me a long time to figure out how to record and erase discs.
The timer did not work properly and would always either record the wrong program or not record at all for no reason that i could fathom out.
After having this machine for just over a year and not using it very often the power supply packed in and i could not get the spare circuit board for the power supply from the Goodmans dealer in the UK at all.
I ended up throwing it away and buying a cheap Asda DVD player ...
