As with most things new technology is expensive but will quickly get cheaper.
This radio is very much entry level with an average build quality but somehow appealing with its silver fascia and mock walnut case.
Nevertheless, it works fine and the sound quality is good, if a little tinny. The buttons also feel a bit cheap with an unsatisfying feel to them when pushed.
Unfortunately and disappointingly the telescopic aerial needs to be fully extended for best reception - restricting the places where the radio can be put.
The radio has an in built battery charger so the use of rechargeable batteries should alleviate any battery life concerns.
The radio can be found for a little under £60 and, while this is a bit on the high side for a modern tranny, is reasonable if you must have new technology today.
Advantages: its got FM Disadvantages: many, its looks awful , the DAB bit is rubbish
Now I know that not all areas of the UK can get the brave new world of digital radio. But its the little things that spoil this product , like the fact that standard FM is much clearer than dab , the fact that Ariel keeps comming loose and the fact that it uses batteries at the rate of 1 set for every 5 hours ( this equates to about £1.00 for every hour listened ) Its also quite a ugly radio, and looks buky large and way to silver. If this is the ... ...dab radio reception is so bad I have taken to listening to Radio 6 and 7 on my Imac and transmitting it back to a standard wind up Fm radio. In short a shabby prouct, badly made which cost a fortune in battries ( Of courseyou could plug it in to the mains but the volue is so low that you really need it in the room you are using it in , and you cant plug it in the bathroom as if a assasin was to enter my house they always use a 240v radio to drop ...
