Advantages: Compact, light, plays home-made disks Disadvantages: If using battery-power, not long-lasting.
In my home I have my main stereo downstairs. The trouble is, I often like listening to music at night before I go to bed. I did have a (really old) personal cd player, but I was sick of replacing the batteries. I went into Argos and spotted the Goodmans GPS222 on display, so I bought one.

The unit its-self is very attractive, being primarily silver in colour. The main unit is 16cm x 17cm and 26cm deep with the speakers 22cm x 14cm x 19cm. The speakers are a pale wood colour with silver covers for the front, which can be removed if you wish and are both 12.5w. It now sits quite unobtrusively at the back of her little desk and seems to take up very little space. This micro system, however, is only a CD/radio, IT DOES NOT HAVE A TAPE DECK. We took the decision that really cassettes are a bit old hat now ...
